Well my favorite sport is soccer, i like it because its the most demanding sport (physical) also because of the things you can do with the ball, and because its the most popular sport in the world

Yeah american football should be call hand ball (since they use their hands the most) and soccer should be called footbal(in america) since everywhere else is known as football

Yeah, totally agree there. It does get confusing when an Englishman talk to an American about Football.

True true, there is no other sport that requries so much from your body, and involves that much contact with out padding. The only sport that requires an insane amount of physical training is water polo. But soccer is incredible, it is never slow, and is a beautiful thing to watch when people know how to play

I wish you could vote for more than one.
As if were, I play volleyball competitively, ultimate frisbee as well. I've played football, baseball, softball, track, wrestling, and rugby. I'll pretty much play whatever is going on at the time. I'm good at all of them. When I lived in Costa Rica I played a lot of Soccer, some basketball and volleyball.
I wonder why we (USA) call it Soccer. Personally, I like the word soccer more than football.

I would have to say rugby is way more demanding than "soccer", i mean its like american football without padding. Way more intense if not a little crazy :) plus unlike american football rugby doesnt stop every 2 seconds for a break lol
Plus an other section on your poll would have made more sence i think :P

Soccer, best sport in the world.
When you see goals like Maradona's double in 91? Against England, you realise how awesome the game is.

true rugby has to be up there, i have to admit im not too familliar witht the sport and havent watched a whole game, but in most soccer games the starters will go the entire 90 mins and it is just nonstop movement along with plenty of contact. Until you have been on the pitch ur not really aware of some of the more subtle but painful contact that happens. we are not talking about ur little ayso soccer weekends. it is becoming very popular and very competitive with amazing young talent here now. "way more demanding"? not a chance.

it is called football in America so get over it...handball is already taken...it is a sport kind of like raquet ball but they use there hands...honestly just because you europeans call something football means absolutley nothing to us in the states...we do our own thing and if you do not like it then oh well...lmao

I was surprised to see martial arts up there. Many people don't consider that a sport but since i hate most of the sports everyone likes, martial arts gotta be my favorite.
I take Kempo karate and it's really fun. I'm not a baseball fan, hockey fan, or football fan.

that's the kind of stupid retarded attitude that made america think it's ok to name a sport after another well established sport that just happened to be the most popular in the world. it was a dumbass move, face it. the lack of originality in america blows my mind, it's like everything is american culture is stolen from another culture and either changed a little bit or just kept the same and then called american.
american culture just looks to me like a patchwork of other cultures around the world. not many things (if any) i've come across have truely been "american"

I LOL'd at PJ man... Football is the most popular sport in the world, fact. Just because america decides to call it soccer doesn't mean the rest of the world will abide by it.
Mixed Martial Arts isn't considered a sport, but I love it. It lacks things making it a sport, like a ranking system and unified rules. It's more of a spectacle, like boxing is. Boxing isn't a sport either, it's a spectacle. It's borderline sports entertainment man.
But going by the list my vote would be for MMA and Boxing, then either football or american football.

oh and americans, if you ever wondered why the entire world hates your country it's because of people like the poster above giving you such a bad name.
splityawig, you're among the most hated people in the most hated country...maybe you should tweak that attitude a little bit before your fellow countrymen wind up killing your dumb ass

If you weren't so ignorant you'd probably have known this. Don't be all ignorant because you're American dude, It honestly does make the rest of us look bad.

rugby has both of those, you have such a strong opinion yet you know NOTHING about it. you fit so well into the 5% or so of americans which are completely ignorant and dumb it's textbook.
i just think it's a shame that you 5% hold such a dark cloud over the other 95%.
and maybe YOU should be the one not to bother posting again on this subject, since you make yourself look more ignorant, stupid and infantile each and every time you post
