First off, Dead Rising doesn’t appear to have the survival/horror genre limitations, appearing to be more of an action title with horror/survival elements. You’ll play as a photo-journalist who is constantly looking for the one piece that will bring his career to the Pulitzer Prize level. We’re guessing that being at the right place at the right time is a key to photojournalism, and after a visit to the mall the player character in Dead Rising couldn’t be happier; that is, if he can stay alive to get the photos published. Yep, zombies have taken over the local mall. The basic gist in Dead Rising is that you must not only take pictures of the zombies and the atrocities that are going down at the mall, but you must also fight off these beast with whatever is available at your local retailers.
