What I heard at Gamestop tonight.

Tonight I went to gamestop to see if they had the 360 Kiosk up yet (they didn't). While I was there, I asked them a few questions. After asking about how much I get for my XBOX 1 trade in I asked if they knew how many 360s they were getting. She told me that she didn't know ( I was 99.9% sure that was the response I would get). Anyways I mentioned something about the rumor that I read on the forums earlier today about the wal-mart dm saying that that particular store was only getting 14 on launch or whatever. She told me that wal-mart signed an agreement with microsoft that they were only selling core packages and not premium. I know that a majority of people on here say that gamestop do not know what they are talking about. I just wanted to let you know what I heard and you can take it however you want to because I have no facts or info to correct her. Wal-mart does have the premium system on their website though but didn't know that at the time.

My Walmart Electronics guy told me the last numbers he has heard
are 32 of the premium and 16 of the core. He said he was pretty sure that

No way is Walmart only selling Core packages. They are a retail monster. They dictate terms. Anyway this would make MS look really stupid. They give you the option to get either option. This would remove the premium option. Don't believe it.

I ordered my 360 at GameCrazy and the guy told me that all the pre-orders were for premium packages only. Thats fine with me because i want the pemium package but for someone who doesnt need it, it could be a problem for them.

play.com have said on there site they cant guaratee christmas delivery
i pre-ordered mine from game(uk store) in august,
i phoned them last week, they said if i pre-ordered i will be safe & get one,
i asked how many they would be getting for the launch date, they said 50,they couldn't say wen the next batch would appear

No no no and NO. How does she know if Walmart signed an agreement?!!? I say that line is 1000% false. Walmart will sell both on launch and thats that. When I hear it from a Walmart mangager, then i'll believe that but not from a person who works at gamestop. Thats like asking a baker if he can fix you computer. No offending you but that woman is messed up.

I talked with a manager at Wal-Mart, and they will be getting in about 60%-80% Premium, and 20%-40% Core. So don't believe this garbage about Wal-Mart selling core packages only.

Thats right plain bad business. You have to look on the motivation of rumors and who would stand to gain from the being true. In this case Walmart and MS would both suffer. Do you think that MS would rather lose Walmart (largest store chain in the world) or Gamestop? :top:

No one has to tell me they are lying. I never said I believe them. I'm sure she was just making it up. She wasn't neccessarily trying to get me to buy one from them because she said they were sold out of preorders through xmas. All she said was that she was taking preorders on accessories and games. I don't really care what wal-mart sales or when because I preordered my 360 back in May. I'm #9 on the list at a EB. As long as I get mine on tuesday moring whenever they open I will be happy. Which that particular EB can't tell me when they are opening that day.

haha im guaranteed one the first day, and im goin to walmart, and no im not campin or anythin ill go any time of the day, and no i dont have any special privelages with any workers and i dont work there, and i didnt even have to put down a down-payment and i went today and am still guaranteed one the first day.

Well it sounds like alot of your local Gamestop's are filled with people that are dumber than rat piss and don't care about games. Which alot of the seasonal people are like at my store. I got some advice for you, talk to the manager or the assistant manager or the other full time person. Don't bother with the part timers because to them its just a job.
