Currently I have a Nokia 7610. Lately I have been eyeing up the Motorola Razr V3 though.
Does anyone have any experiences with this phone (good or bad)?
Cheers

Can you post a picture of it?
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a decent phone (at least for a Motorola). I would get one if they weren't so expensive, and if I didn't have a bad past with Motorola phones.
If I were you I'd look on the internet for some reviews of the phone to see if there are any problems with it.

Everyone i know who has one of them is impressed with it, i currently have the Nokia 6680, and i am pretty pleased with it overall. It really depends on what features you would use. Organization? Camera? just consider those and see if it meets your specifications.
Here's some public reviews on the phone:

That's the one I thought it was. For a Motorola, it's a good phone.

Bah, my nextdoor neighboor has a razor, I think there way overly rated, I myself am planning on getting one of the palm pilot phones like a blackberry7100g, or a Palm Trea 650, and also, me friend with the razor even admitted it, the camera sucks!

I think the Razors are a fad. They will go out of style soon. It is thin, but someone could break it. I would get that iPod phone, thats good even though its sort of bulky. Its up too you just my imput.

I have the Black Razr V3, Its awsome. I never have problems with. I have awsome reception every where I go. It slick and smooth. When you put it in you're poket you don't fill anything. Batterlife is good. I rate it 9.5/10. But a little pricey. $300 for me so makes the scale go down to 9.0/10.

the "only" problem with the phone I have is that it does'nt take video footage.
And the buttons are hard to use at first, but with in time you'll get use to it.

I have heard nothing but bad things about the Razor phones. I have a Motorola V600... It can do about everything and has had rave reviews. I personally don't need all the crap that comes with it, but it's nice to have for the cool factor.

Hey Matt, i have that cell phone with cingular as my provider and its badd, the cell phone is very small, thin, and will fit in your pocket and dont even fell it, the camara takes good pics compared to other phnes. My review 9/10
Cons: a bit pricey, 150 dlls with 2 yr contarct, or around 300 with 1 year contract

It's a good phone, really small, and fragile though. I'd suggest rethinking it if you're always dropping your cell phone. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with it. My buddy has one, and he likes it.

Here is a great forum site for phones. Just about everyone there has one phone or another and they are very very helpful. When I was looking for a new phone I read what they had to say and ended up getting a Motorola MPX220. It had everything that I needed for work. I had looked at the Razr but it just seemed too small and I was affraid I would leave it somewhere and not even notice. I also looked at Treo650 and other Palm PDA but wanted to go with a pocket pc pda and try and keep everything simple between my phone and outlook on my pc.
When you decide, I would suggest looking at Amazon.com. My local cingular stores as well as most sites had it for sale around $300 w/ 2 year contract and Amazon had it for like $350 w/ $100 rebate and only needed a 1 yr contract.

My friend has one and personally I think it is too small because I feel like I could brake it easily without even trying. The phone that I have that I am extremely happy with is the LG VX 9800 this phone is super sweet.Since your on this site I bet your into video games and if so there is the n-gage witch has some pretty fun games.

Gentleman that works for me has the razor and had nothing but good things to say about it until he put it in his back pocket, sat and snaped it. He is a big man but man that was a costly sit down.

I have the black razr and its a great phone, never had a problem with it. if you like motorolas i would go with the razr or maybe the v635, i had it for a few months but sold it to get money for my 360. either phone is great and has basically the same features but the v635 is your more typical flip and its rarely seen since its not released in the US. I know a website that has both at a great price so PM if u want to know it or if u want to know anything else about either phone, i get all my phones from them.

Thanks guys - all your comments have been really helpful.
A very mixed bag of comments :) Are there any comparable clam shell / flip phones? I wouldnt mind sticking with Nokia, but their clam shells are pretty bad?
I'm just after a good flip phone really, and the smaller the better

Well the smaller the better, so get a black razr, some people are saying that it looks very fragil, well you have to take care of it, dont let it drop, etc. The buttons are also a cool feature of the phons, and im sure you will not find anything smaller

Yeah, that MPx220 does look very cool. A little more expensive that the v3, but has Windows O/S which I like.

If that is what your after then the Razr is a good choice. I think somebody mentioned that when it is your pocket that you can't feel it so just make sure
you don't forget it somewhere because you wont be able to tell if it is in your pocket or not.

The Razor is a nice phone, but why need a new one. Is your old phone out of space.

If you like Nokia then it is best to stick with them - out of all the phone makes I've used, Nokia are always the most reliable. Their flip-phones are really just as good as their candybar phones. With Nokia you know where you stand, so maybe it's best to look around at Nokia flip-phones?

the v3 is a pretty good phone, but its hard to find a case for it which sucks cause it gets scratched up

As an update to this:
I got a Motorola MPx220, but then promptly resold because I didn't like it (not small enough, too hard to use).
It also made me realise how good the phone I had along was - the Nokia 7610. The camera on the Motorola was so bad compared to the Nokia!
