View Full Version : Practically stole an hdtv!!!

yesterday was my lucky day, my mom had gone out to run some errands then she called me and told me she found what looked like a brand new samsung flatscreen at the salvation army (thrift store), and that it was $300(and no tax on it!!!!!). I tried to not get my hopes up, figuring it was some nasty old thing, but in the corner of my mind i was hoping that it was a hi def. Sure enough when i got there it was brand new had just been unpackaged, it looked to be in perfect condition, and had a gorgeous 26 inch screen. I researched the tv today and foud that i saved up to $300 on it. the only flaw with it was the speakers are somehow damaged and act up which is prob how it ended up there, but i had an easy solution to that prob, i just took the tv speakers out of the equasion and ran audio through my sterio. I have ten days to work it in and make sure nothing serious is wrong with it. I am so stoked now that i have an hd to play my 360 on when it gets here!!!

Ummmmm, you suck! Just kidding, great find you are sooo lucky. Wish I could find an HD for that kind of price.

HD for 300 bucks? you lucky little.....26" and everything. God and im stuck with a 70" hdtv lol

Not bad man, wish I would of found it. Would of went nice in my bedroom. Although I rarely watch TV in there. Good find though man, I'd purchase a surround sound set. That'd solve the audio problems.

yeah now i just need to find a tv stand for it, preferably under $120 bucks and im keeping my eye on a samsung sround sound set, but im spending enough $$ as it is so that will have to wait till after christmas!

LOL. nice find, u have good luck. i got my hdtv 250$ though cause my friend worked at our retailer(powerzone) and he beat the box up and said it fell and they put a 50% off for damage sticker on it and also put it on sale then i bought it, same with the laptop he has. Hes a really good scammer heres some pics of my tv. but thats really illegal and he got fired for doing it to something else... but was worth it for me

Like i said the speakers are all jacked up, it makes a really strange (but very faint) sound, but it only happens if it gets bumped, wierdest thing ive ever heard of but so far everything else has worked perfectlly, now i just gotta find a tv stand for it, i have a Good Guys store down the street that is going out of business, hoping to pick one from them for cheap later this week maybe next

GHO5T what model is your TV exactly can you get the serial number for me and PM it to me?

You have a component hookup in the back but that doesn't really mean HDTV since all tv's really have component standard now or are getting that way. Its just a selling point for them. Your TV looks comparable to the Sony Wega I used to have which wasn't HD but still really nice. I'm wanting to say that its not but I can double check for you. Best way to know though is get the component cables for your xbox hook them up and then in your xbox dashboard put on "480p" this isn't HD but if your TV doesn't even support the 480p mode then you'll know for sure its just a standard model. Since most HDTV's are widescreen minus some models (such as the sony's which are in 4:3 and have HD)



on topic-excellent find bud :) like someone else said just snag you a surround sound system for it (you can get a small cheaper one) and you'll never need the TV's speakers just put them on mute and your good to go!

A guy I work with said 12 52'' t.v.'s "fell of a truck"and he was selling
them for 1,000 each,buy the time I got the money(2 days) they were
gone already so I missed out.He says it will happen again but not untill after thanksgiving.I hope he aint b.s me.
