If you didn't read the original thread, here it is:
http://forums.planetxbox360.com/xbox-360-general/2826-hilarious-sad-happening-360-kiosk.html
I stopped by wal-mart earlier tonight to pick up Serious Sam II for the PC to tide me over till the 360. I talked to one of the guys in the electronics department, and told them of the unpleasantness I witnessed. He said he knew about it, and the company that M$ hired to support the kiosks fixed it yesterday. It ended up costing the store over $1700 to have it fixed! Sucks to be them...

Why did it cost so much when a 360 is only $400.00? Oh yeah I forgot that at $400.00 M$ is losing money on there systems, so M$ probally charged the full price of a 360 and also for the entire set-up probally costs money to.
Well I guess I just answered my own question. That was a waste of time

I highly doubt it was the parts that cost the big bucks. The major portion of that bill was the cost of having whatever company M$ is using come out to fix it. Seeing as how I live almost in the middle of no where, they probably had to fly in.

It wasn't only the controller. The play and charge cord was completely ripped and the plastic housing around it was destroyed.

I don't know what happened to them. The only thing I do know is the manager yelling: "GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT"

Man, when I went to my walmart to play, this story was the only thing going through my head. I kept thinking, "I'm going to have to intervene if some kid goes ballistic!"
hahaha, but there was NO ONE in line for it. It was hard to find too, tucked into a corner of the game section, hardly even a sign there. strange. And it wasn't in a kiosk, it was an HD monitor, and the system was just stacked on top of the games inside the case........it was ghetto, for sure. But I didn't complain........I just took in the beauty of COD and King Kong......I should go back to see if they have overheating issues in the makeshift case.....um, and to play more 360.

why cant walmart be normal and just get the kiosks, putting them in the lock ups is ghetto when everywhere is getting those awseome kiosks, not to mention those samsung screens. Oh well sucks for them just more of a liability

ud think M$ would want a better representation of their product, espessially since that was many potential customer's first experiance w/ the hardware...
