My Gamestop Is Finally Talking Sense

I went into gamestop on monday and was about to pay off the rest of my 360 when the manager said 'I have some news' so before paying it all of I spoke to him (my mom was there also) He was saying how today he was talking to microsoft for about 2 hours about the shipments and all that good stuff and he said they were getting 14 360's in on launch, before saying how bad that sucked, I asked where I was on the list. I was number 39 of about 200 people, thats not too bad, except for the fact they he said they would get in about 10 every week. But he said TONS of people havent payed off their 360's and tonight he was going to go home, look at everyone who payed theirs off and make them higher on the list, so I decided to pay off the 360, I mean what else would I have done, so I go in today and ask him about my shipment, and he said I will probaly squeeze into the 1st ship! Thats excelent! Im so happy ( but he did say probably)

LOL i feel sorry for you, you got tricked into paying the X360. You are num. 39 and there are 14 consoles for release, and ten every week so that makes about 3 weeks after the launching that you will get yours. In moments like this i would be laughing but its anohter gamers without x360 for he release

Yeah me too, i wish you good luck and hopefully you'll get your system for release. If i were you (which im not) i'll go back as soon as possible and put some pressure on the manager until he gets tired of you and forced imto put you on the 1st shipment

Well my gamestop said walmart was getting less than them, and thats too much chaos for me, and he also said the biggest number of 360's one store was getting was 30 (this is in georgia)

1st, 2nd? I may ask a person at Walmart to hold a 360 for me. They do hold stuff, but no reserves. I might ask 2 days before launch. 14 systems? 30? of both or premium? That sounds low. yeah unfortunately retailers will tell you ANYTHING to get you to pay stuff off early. Helps their sales for that week. Its a sad truth. And they'll always use the catch phrases "yeah we're getting more in than that store" when they have absolutely NO idea how much another company would be getting. So dont listen to that BS. I hope you can get on the first shipment bud. But I dunno. Sounds like he was just making you a promise that he knows he isn't held accountable for, he can always weasle out and say he couldn't do it. When he knew well ahead of time he couldn't anyways. Because if the tope 20 or so people come in and pay theirs off say today then technically they should still be first. As they were before you, regardless of when they paid it off in full. EB even told me they wont do that, only that if someone doesn't come and pay theirs off on launch that they'll bump them off the first shipment and then call the next person on the list. But still best of luck hope it works out

i ordered mine in august @ gamestopand i was like number 18. i have know clue how many my gamestop is getting but it can't be much i mean c'mon it's berryville arkansas they can't be gettin much. i'll have to call tomorrow and find out because i'd really like to get mine on launch. also...may sound noobish but any comfirmation on launch titles yet?

I can feel for you I was called the other day from eb games and last time i went up there they told me I was #14 but the call I got the other day was to tell me that 2 people cancelled and I was bumped up to #12 and they were getting 12 360s so I barely made it too.

Well, I would hope for the best. I know some stores are actually doing that stupid stuff where if you pay your's off ahead of time, you will be bumped up the list. (I think it's wrong, but that's me) I know a lot of people are canceling there pre-orders because of one reason or another, so you could be bumped up with that as well.

i just got off the phone wit my gamespot mgr and he said that he is getting 80 premiums for the first shipment! he also said that he already recieved news from microsoft that some of the 2nd shipment orders will be filled also by launch. i reserved mine july 5th and he said i am close to the cut off line, but more than likely i will get one on launch! im so excited!! his said they will call everyone this weekend to let them know if they are on launch or not!!!

80 seems a little rediculous at this point, my target store is the highest volume in the district and my bosses are saying that the number looks like 15, which is rediclous, but seeings how launch is less than two weeks away they should be ariving VERY soon and when i know you guys will know, then we can be done with all this speculation.

Pre-ordered mine at FYE and was only the 2nd person to do so. WHOOP! I think alot of people forgot about places like FYE, Strawberries, Wherehouse, Sam Goodies, etc. that also get gaming systems so I figured I'd take advantage of that.

I went into gamestop yesterday and they told me the same thing there getting in about maybe 15. I preordered mine back in May, matter of fact the manager told me I was second to preorder mine and he was the first. He said hes probably going to let his slot go to a costomer. He said im a first day guarenteed. They told me there not opening at midnight anymore so im going to pick mine up in the morning when they open. I got the premium packege with perfect dark zero an extra controller and the play charge kit. I was going to get oblivion but it got moved back until February so that sucks. :bawling:

Im pretty sure that the manager would not be allowed to bump you up the list, not until the release date and once its released he can check whos paid and then bump people accordingly but not befor release date

should not matter if you pay it off. it should go by when you reserved it long as you put the $50 down you should be safe just cause someone paid theirs off should make no diffrence everyone that reserved and only put the $50 down should not be penalized for not paying the full amount off. After all they pay it off on launch night. If they are moving people up the list who paid it off already then that is unethical and I would never give my buisness to them. Thas just my opinnion.

Yea, last week my gamestop said 150 for 1st ship, but its actually 14, and the most 360's one place is getting is 30 in the state of georgia!:embarasse

Personally, I think pre-ordering is a waste of time. I mean I've heard of several people on here that are getting bumped. Me, I'm going to Wal-Mart on opening night and I'm 99.9% sure I'll walk out with my own Xbox 360 and everything.

You best get there EARLY......I mean if the stores are getting less than 20 units........that's a LOT of people getting turned away
