would be illigal to take a console from the stores b4 relaese IMO
My cousin works at Gamestation and I asked him the same question last week and the answer was no,he has to wait till he has finished work on release day(Dec 2nd) before he can take one home.

If you could get a 360 early by working at a game store I would start working right now and then quit right after release.lol.

I think he's really asking when the boxes will actually arrive. Like, say you were the manager of your local GameStop, and the shipment came in, and you knew you could take one home without getting in trouble.
This is a good question. From my experience working at a game rental store, that they will arrive 2-3 early. This way, the potential window for leaked consoles is small. This minimises the chance of someone getting a 360 way too early, while at the same time ensuring they will arrive by launch day.
Halo 2 is a good example. I got my copy three days before release because I had a friend working at a store that got theirs on that day. His manager let him take out copies for his friends.
Even though we got ours early, there were still a good number of people playing Halo 2 on Live. Not a ton, but a pretty good number. MS probably didn't care because it was so close to launch anyway. No harm, no foul.

Well the people who won one in the Mountain Dew ones get theirs early and and the American's get theirs early as well..... as for game stores I suppose they could but I think Microsft may be stopping that somehow and if not the managers most likely will do.

It would be illegal if you bought a 360 from your store early, I believe someone from my school got fired from BestBuy for buying a copy of Halo 2 before he was allowed to.

There are lots and lots of things that are illegal, but people do them anyway.
It's the smarties that don't get caught.

I hear that some retail stores have problems with this during console releases. They work a week or two, and come release day, they are never heard from again!

if you work at a game store and get one early and m$ finds out about it they can stop selling them to your company, and seeings how the 360 is going to make bank, no smart manager is going to risk it. I can't get mine early, but our manager will put a few away for employees to buy, works for me!

Life time warranty? i dnt think there is such a thing.
And the answer is so, stores can get in deep serious trouble if they do that

Yeah, there is such a thing. My friend got a lifetime warrenty for his xbox. It wasnt running well(got to dusty or somthing about interference) so he through it out the window, went and told gamestop it was damaged, and they gave him a new one for free.
