Xbox.com: Tell me another cool thing about the guts.
JR: Well, we want to discourage hackers, so this time around we didn't put any screws on the outside of the box and have multiple tamper evident labels. So with Xbox 360 we'll be able to tell if they've cracked the case.
Xbox.com: And of course, just like the original Xbox, cracking the case immediately voids your warranty.
JR: Of course.
Xbox.com: Very safe, very powerful, and very cool—inside and out. Thanks Jeff!

I personally think that it is a good idea to not have screws on the outside of the Xbox because I really hate it when I play match making and I end up playing with modders because it takes the fun out of the game

There is a way to mod your Xbox without even opening it up. Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 will be modded, it's just a matter of time.

They're already modding controllers. Like the X on the controller can be blue and red. Its all on http://llama.com/. Click on the 360 section and tada! Its there.

modding a controller is one thing, modding hardware is a completly different story, i doubt ms is really gonna care if you change the led colors. But modders will prevail against the 360 eventually, at least if they screw somthing up they are screwed!

y r u guys bashing modders so much. the guys u r all talking about are cheaters not modders. i have my xbox modded, and i never once have cheated on xbox live. go on xboxscene.com , which is almost the official xbox modding site and try mentioning halo cheating. theyl tear your head off, that how much they hate cheaters. and i doubt that clips instead of screws will stop serious modders. it probably will just stop those kids that go and buy an easy-install solderless modchip, and will be confused on the no screws thing.

but why do you have to mod the console?? there is no need for it, it works just fine the way it was created, no reason t go tampering with it. The point is many of the people who mod their consoles do so to get an edge, and it is just retared.

I modded my console. Not so I could cheat...I hate cheating, but so that I could unlock the hidden potential of the xbox. I mean it is basically a pc. I run linux, xbox media center, I can play emulators, and watch divx movies, transfer downloaded video, etc. BUt that is just my opinion.

exactly, u know what your talking about. Modding is not ment to give you an edge, it is to let you do more with the console, like use it as a linux pc. i surf the web with my xbox, chat, have my entire movie collection on it, and have backed up all my games on its hard drive so that i dont have to take the dvds with me everywere. its really fun when you can get that much out of the xbox. and look here (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=417378)
it clearly states that halo modding will not be tolerated. while your at it read around the xboxscene.com forumms and see y we really mod the xbox.
