you'll be able to play it. but your playing time and what you can do will be limited.

i believe silver allows you download content and stuff, but as for playing online, i think you're limited to 'free live weekends' and such

well if it is free on the weekends wouldnt that deduct from what u would pay annually or do they already deduct it and u pay for the whole year free weekends and all?

I don't know why they would deuduct it, it's a monthly (or yearly) fee not a daily fee.

Silver membership lets you chat, buy thing off the marketplace, have a gamertag and things. I dont think you can play games online. And if you have live now gold is the same price. its dumd not to get gold.

I'm going to get Gold because you can't Compete with others in Multiplayer with Silver.

with silver, you can (every now and then) play matchmaking. but it'll most likely be microsoft's decision on when you can.
