Who here has received a refund from GameStop for their 360 pre-order? I was just told I could only get store credit.

I got the call from EB stating they wouldn't get system in for 3 weeks for me, so I said I'd cancel my preorder.......he said.........

"I understand, we have no problem refunding all your money."

Yeah gamestop said the samething to me. If I want a refund its gunna be in gamebucks which sucks

You're kidding me! When I was told that I may not get my 360 for at least 2 weeks (and I am #14 on the pre-order list), the employee told me to go buy it somewhere else and cancel my pre-order... I would be super-pissed if it was based on store credit only- great, I'd had $550 dollars of instore credit. Yippie.

Theyre just doing that to make themselves look good. If whoever told you that can make you think you can only get store credit and not a cash refund it looks good on their part. They dont want to lose that much money so he says that but I guarantee if you demand a cash refund they will give it to you.

Yes most people pre-ordered to guarentee themselves a system Gamestop/EB did not follow through so therefore you should be able to get a refund the pre order was basically there to get you a launch system or one 2 weeks later not in January. So I would use that argument.

I think they have to issue you cash if you request it. If they say store credit only ask to speak to the manager. If the manager states that he can only give you store credit ask to speak to his supervisor, get his/her name and phone number. Tell them that you are willing to contact your lawyer if required and that you only wish to receive what is rightfully yours anyway. All the time be polite.

thats one of the most rediculous things ive ever heard, and im sure to some degree its illegal, im sure there is some loophole saying that u will have it by a certain time (my guess two weeks) but its just stupid, dont take no for an answer!

Well, I got in touch with the manager after pulling teeth to talk to him. He told me that we always give the first "option" of store credit when I wasn't given an option. He then agreed to give me cash back for my pre-order. The regional manger was in the store when I went by get the refund and the manager kept looking to him to get help on keeping my money in the store. The RM then proceeded to tell me how they had all the accessories to spend my "store credit" on. I just told him that I already had all of the accessories I wanted(lie) and I already purchase the games I wanted from them. I was very surprised that they gave me the refund in cash from the register. Nobody does that these days. I then ran back to Wal-Mart, which was 50ft from the GS, I jumped in 27th in line. 9 hours later I got my 360. WhooHoo! I was very lucky to have everything turn my way. Thanks for the advice, guys! :)
