Did you do anything crazy to get your console, or were you smart enough to get an early pre order in? What's your favorite new feature on the 360, and your best game? Have you noticed any problems or issues or is it clean sailing?

im in the uk so i cant get mine till 2nd december but i pre ordered of play.com and i pre ordered back in august so i think ill get one from launch :D, ill beg my mum for a go on it then ill see if i can use it a bit more but she'll probably say "not till christmas" my m8s getting it on launch so ill see if i can have the controller to go over his with

I have two stories, one is mine, one is my friends. I'll post them seperately.

Story 1:

I preordered mine on May 12th, at 9:30 in the morning. I was the first person in our district to preorder, even before any of the GameStop employees. As far as the 360 goes, everything went great. Seamless xBox Live integration, from my xBox to my 360. Two great games (PDZ and NFS: MW) and a premium system kept me up all night. Which is where the problem is. I decided to do the right thing in September and put in for vacation time for Tuesday, November 22nd. It was approved. None of my friends did this, and they all were worried about it because they knew they would be up all night Monday night. Then, at the last minute my boss canceled my vacation time for no reason.

So today I'm at work on less than two hours of sleep. My friends? They're home still playing. They all called in sick.

The moral? Never do the right thing. Call in sick.

Story 2:

My friend waited outside of Best Buy all night in the freezing cold. He was one of the first people in line. He got a ticket that guaranteed him a Premium System. When they let everyone inside, he ended up in a long line. When he got to the front, he found out they had given his Premium System to somebody with a Core ticket, and they were out of Premiums, so he had to get the $299 package. He was highly upset, so he made them get a manager to fix the problem. The solution they came up with is pretty cool for him. He got the Core system, but paid the Premium price. Best buy gave him the big 360 remote control, a 2nd wireless controller, a hard drive (that he has to pick up in a week, since they didn't have any in stock), the HD Component plugs and the Live Headset. To hold him over until the hard drive came in, they gave him one of the memory cards for 1/2 off. So for $399, he got basically a Premium package with the bigger remote, an extra controller (wired, though) and half off of a brand new memory card. I wish I could have gotten cheated like that!

Ok, I dont think anyone is going to beat my experience. Here it goes.

To start off, I have to say, Best Buy SUCKS, they are cheaters and money stealers!!!!!!!!!!! I went to my local best buy at 3:00pm on the 21st, and was 12th in line. They had 28 premiums and 10 cores. I settled in and relaxed for 2 hours, when the manager comes out and states that they "decided" that they were only going to sell the systems in bundles for a 1000 dollars!!!!!!! Needless to say there were some REALLY pissed off people in line, including myself. I already had my accessories and games bought from EB, plus even if I hadn't already bought my accesories I STILL didnt have 1000 dollars to spend on that, it was ridiculous on their part and false advertising, since they never stated the 360 would be sold in a bundle on the internet, over the phone when I talked to them, or in their advertisment catalogs. There were furious kids SCREAMING at the manager that had been waiting in line since 11:00 am that morning. So I packed up quick, called up my friend and told him to jump in line at my small walmart next to my house (not a 24 hour) until I could get there. (I was 30 min away). This walmart was only getting 14 systems (4 premium, 10 core) so I drove over there as fast as I could. When i got there, around 6:00pm, my friend saved me a spot first in line. There was a kid behind him, and we were the only two for another hour, then 3 more came. By 10:00 we had 14 people, so we passed out numbers we made and agreed that everyone was in line according to our number, then we just made a circle with our chairs and benches and talked. Some guy brought his tv with an Antenna and we plugged it in to a outlet at walmart outside and watched tv and movies all night, and talked about 360. Anyways at around 5:00 am we started lining up, and at 7:00 they handed us out tickets (I got the first premium) and told us to walk to electronics to pick up the system and pay for it. So I get up to the register, and pay with my debit card. Only wait, it denies my transaction!!!!!! I am like what the f$*K!!!!! I try it again, still doesnt work!!!!! I am pretty scared at this point, because i didnt carry cash with me, so I write them a check. They have to verifty the check through my bank, and its not open yet!!!!! SO I am freaking out, I have been waiting in line for 13+ hours and i am about to walk away with no system. In desperation, I turn to the 2nd guy in line that I made friends with and talked to all night, and he pays for it for me with his credit card!!!!!!!!!! Not even knowing me but for a night, and does thtat for me!!! So I walk out with my system, go to my bank at 9 and ***** them out because my card isnt working when it should be (turns out some idiot mistakenly set up my debit card to only allow 200 dollar or less transactions, when it is suspose to allow 500!) She apologized and fixed the error, and I collected the money from my account and paid the kid back with straight up cash. I dont know if I can ever thank him enough, because now here I am playing PDO and NBA 2k6 with a smile on my face!!!!!!!!

It all started 4 months ago. I heard the xbox 360 would be coming out this year, so i started to save money. My mom doesn't make a lot of money, so i would get $10 hear, $10 there. I busted my ass to get more money when i heard it would be $400. I also saved for one game. I got the game when i paid it off on friday. I only made enough for the system and that was all i was going to get. So about 1AM last night, my mom took me to best buy to line up, they tell me there's a list at the front of the line. So i went, and they told me that they were only going to sell bundles that were $650 and that the system wouldn't be sold by itself without the things that i wouldn't have enough for. This made my mom feel like a piece of **** because she said she could provide my needs. all the other stores xboxes were spoken for, so now my mom blames her self for me not getting one. now my mom hasn't come out of her room since last night. now i hate best buy.

yeah so i didn't pre-order for months, i said fack the bundles and all that crap.. then ritzcamera.com offered the systems for just a little above msrp so i pre-ordered. that was in the beginning of september. a month ago i get an email saying 'oh boo hoo we oversold yada yada yada' so i cancelled that crap. screw them for recklessly overselling. i can do without a 360 anyway, besides i sold my hdtv and i don't feel like sinking $3000 for a new one plus $900 on the 360 and games.

so i'm bumming around walmart 2 weeks ago and ask one of the nerds working in electronics how many systems they were getting, he said like 10 if that. now mind you, this is a super walmart but it's in the middle of nowhere so he might be right. well screw that, i'm not lining up for hours to get some ticket that says i'm allowed to buy something. screw it i can do without a 360 anyway.

so then last week circuitcity.com says they're gonna sell whatever remaining units they have, first come first served. ok i'll try this out since it doesn't involve standing out in the fackin cold with nerds all night. so yea the site starts selling the units 20 mins late and all hell breaks loose. the entire circuitcity.com site crashes and burns. but hmm about an hour and 18 minutes later, after relentlessly pounding the ordering system i get in, and wow this time i can actually get through the check-out process, amazing. yep so fedex says my stuff will arrive tomorrow, which just-so coincides with the arrival of my new sony xbr960 hdtv.

so yesterday i pop back in to visit the walmart nerds and pick up some games. oh sorry we cannot sell you the games until midnight tonight. come again doofus? then they start checking fackin bestbuy circulars and crap seeing if release dates are mentioned. i leave the nerds arguing with each other and hit up EB next door, pick up a handful of games, leaving plenty enough time to come home and spank one off thinking about how awesome this has all been.

so now you can all hate me for waiting so long, not even caring, yet still getting a system.

I got off work at 5pm 1 hour early, I get home change clothes call walmart. The lady who picks up the phones tells me the line has already exceeded there allotment and that she was trying to convince some people to leave who had no chance of getting a system. I hang up the phone boot up my computer to check the news and apparantly some store in my state had got robbed buy a gunman who only asked for 360s LOL.(he was quickly aprahended by police and the 2 systems he made off with were returned) Anyway I knew it was gonna be a long night. I call up a friend of mine who is the manager of our local gamestop and ask for the word on the street, he tells me to get my @#$ out to bestbuy quick cause the line had already formed. Its cold a raining outside and Im so tired from work I decide to get some sleep and head out early around 4 am.

After hitting the snooze butting abour 6 times I wake up and head out about 545 am. I get to best buy and there is a large crowd out front with tents and raingear so I just asked the first guy I saw what the deal was. His report was 38 systems total and the list was already 51 people long. I head out to circuit city and jump out of my car....line doenst look to long so I jump in and ask the guy in front of me what the status is. His report 20 systems, Im number 21 in line btw. I stand there dazed for a second when an older lady who works a circuit city walks up to me an asked if she had given me a number. I told her no and she told me I was #21 and that she had been turning people away for a while now. She kindly suggested I try my local target because she had heard there wasnt a line there yet and she told me that Sams club was a possiblity but not very likely because they only let there buiness members in early and they would probably buy all there stock before the store opened to regular members.

So I jump back in the car and head out to target...only problem is that target in my area just opened recently and I wasnt sure where it was? So Im driving trying to find it make a few calls for directions and finally give up out of frustration. "Turns out I drove right by it twice btw lol".
It was starting to dawn on me that I probably wasnt gonna make this launch. I had never missed one since I could remember but this would be my first. I felt pretty broken by this time, and I was on my way home when on a whim I just decided to pull in at sams club, since I had to go right by it to get home. I get there jump out of the car and there is a small line at the door maybe 10 people. I walk up and there is a lady in front of me, she was an off duty sams club employee who was waiting in line for the 360. I could barely summon the nerve to even ask if you had to be a buisness member to get into Sams club to buy the 360, because I felt like I already new the answer to that question. Nothing this morning had gone my way, how could this? her reply was "No sweetie, not this morning." I stood there puzzled for a second while she explained to me that the manager had decided that they would open first come first serve to all members for xbox 360 purchases only. There were 11 people in line when I got there and 4 of them were adult child couples who were only purchasing one system.

I stood there shocked and fairly happy for a few mins and I barely noticed that within about 3 minutes 15 people had showed up behind me. A couple minutes go by and the manager comes out counts out the first 20 people in line and tells the rest that they cant purchase cause they only have 20 systems to sell. He escorts us in inside and ask us to line up at the register and show him our membership cards, and then the lady proceeds to start selling the system. Price was 449 for a bundle premium system exrta wireless controller and play and charge kit. Pretty good deal for me since I planned to purchase the extra controller and kit seperately.

I was full of joy when I aproach the register and handed the lady my membership card. She scans it and frowns.......Scans it again and says sorry sir you membership has been revoked. She called for the manager who tells me to please step out of line. I follow him around the corner to a computer where he starts to look over some info and he tells me "sorry sir I cant sell you a system your membership has been revoked." I just stood there, I dont really remember what I was thinking at the time. Now I honestly couldnt tell you if it was the look on my face or something he saw in my eyes or divine intervention, but right there on the spot he just reconsidered and told me "Son just fill out a membership form and maybe I can help you out.

Now im standing there, Pen in hand struggling to recall simple info about myself like my home phone number lol, when i realize that the the lady hasnt stopped selling systems to the people in line and I look up and there are more people showing up to inquire about the system. My hands start shaking when I hear her and anthor lady beside her start to tell people. Sorry we are sold out. I walk up and hand one of the ladies that where helping out my application I look at the floor where the systems are stacked and there are none left there. Now as she's typing in my info and about to take my pic for the card Im thinking maybe Ill just walk out of the store I was so upset. Funny thing is the lady is about to take the picture for the card and she asked me to smile, at that moment I just couldnt force myself to do it, She looks at me and smiles and reaches under the counter and pulls out an xbox bundle that she and the other lady had put aside for me. I was truly floored, and touched by such an act of kindness. I must of thanked the these ladies as well as the manager 100 times before I left the store with my system, and I would like to thank the employees at the Walmart SAMS CLUB in Charlottesville VA once more in this post.

Well that pretty much sums up my xbox 360 launch story. I dont know if Ill get flamed for such a lame story or flamed for gramatical errors in this post. I just wanted to share my experience because I have really enjoyed reading others. To me system launches have always been about the experience, sometimes its ugly sometimes its wonderful. But no matter how things go, good or bad its not often enough that gamers get to come together and display a passion for our lifestyle.

well me and my friend were gonna go to toys r us at 9 no one was there and his mom had second thoughts of him staying out im 15 hes 16 so we never stood out but the guy at toys r us was supposed to save me a preorder and he never did so we asked if he can cancel someones preorder and he said he couldnt so he said if u come here at 5 u guys should get 1 so me and my father went there at 3 and there was 15 people and they were only getting 8 so the guy lied to us twice and so my dad called the toys r us corporate office and flipped out at them and they said that they r gonna see if they can hold us a premium system we will know in 5 days. Well now I called my BJ's they havnt got there 360's in but they said there getting 20 in and they dont no when they are coming. Ya well im crossing my fingers.

Nothing special but I basically pre-ordered my system at FYE over 6 months ago and was #2 on the list. Mean while I pre-ordered all my games at EB. Come this past Friday I call FYE and they inform me that they were only getting ONE premium system and that is is, no cores, nothing. The manager says that I will get the 2nd one to come in. Well as we all know, know one is positive when second shipments will be going out so Monday around 4:30pm or so I started scouting Walmart, BB, etc. My local 24hr walmart had ppl out the door, so I drove to BB and they had easily 100 ppl inline already so I was starting to have doubts. I knew there was a Circuit City in the next Shopping plaza that is NEVER busy so I figured what the hell. I pull in and there looked to be on 10 ppl or so in line so I figure what the hell. I jump in line and was number 14. CC wouldn't tell us exactly how many they had of each so I stuck it out 18hrs until 10am this morning. Mean while we managed to pick up another 40 ppl behind me. Well come 9:30am the manager comes out and has the vouchers in his hands. He starts at the front of the line and I'm already sweating, lol. Long story short I ended up getting the LAST premium system voucher they had. CC has gotten 14 premium's and 6 Core. Needless to say there were some unhappy ppl behind me. Either way once the clock struck 10am they let ONLY the ppl in that had vouchers, nobody else. THey had 6 Police officers inside directing you to there customer service area where they had all the games, accessories and systems behind the counter. You turned your voucher in, told them what you wanted and as SOON as you paid the police escorted you outside. So I got mine, jumped in the car swung by the mall and picked up my 5 games and controller I had already prepaid for at EB. Good stuff!

Good ending to a long NIGHT!

On a side note a lady did come up when we had our vouchers and offered anyone her diamond wedding band for a voucher, lol.. Crazy ppl

Well my story is i pre-ordered mine from futureshop everything went well except when canada post came to my appartment, the twit pushed the wrong appartment number (good thing nobody answered cause that would have been a whole new story) so he took it to the post office and left me a ticket to go pick it up tomorrow, oh well, see you on live tomorrow

With my discount i got the 360, PDZ, and an extra wireless for $482. Went home set it up played for a few, then got some sleep!

Mines a borring story, preordered mine within 2 weeks of being able to, ended up sometlike 5/6/7 in line, luckily my father has a life long friendship with the manager their (old war buddys from the army) and he told me and my father if i don't make the first shipment (which hes 95% sure i will make the first shipment) he'll give me his as hes not that keen a gamers anyways. I live in Greece and I will get mine 2nd Dec. I have preordered one but I am sure that this is not important here, I live in Corfu and we have about 110.00 population, I have being asking a lot of people about the new console and funny is that most of them don't know much about it and none of them will get one at the launch day. I feel happy cause I will get one XBOX360 100% for sure at 2nd Dec. but here we still don't have XBOX LIVE because we don't have enough people interested to pressure them to bring it at our area(SUCKS!!).
P.S.: I will be 2nd Dec. 8:00AM at my local store(open time) to get my console because **** HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND YOU NEVER KNOW!?!

I walked into my local EB the morning of the 22nd...had to wait abit and explain to the old mall walkers why all of us were standing there. One lady knew about and proclaimed that I must be rich,...I responded to her by saying " if I was I am not anymore!" lol All in all though I had a very problem FREE experience, got everything and hooked up easy...but now I am off to my parents for the extended weekend without my 360..lol Fiugres have all the time off in the world and ya gotta leave at home....

preordered at gamestop in May, paid it off while workin this summer and what not. traded in some old crap. was allowed to go inside gamestop and sit around for 3 hours playing Condemed, Quake 4 and some other stuff. jus chillin, got all rang up and home by 12:15 am. no long wait, was nice and warm too. xbox live integration worked, got HD all set up. picked up PGR3, PDZ, COD2, extra wireless controller, and a Play and Charge Kit. 1080i Widescreen rocks.

Well, it all started when I went to Xbox.com to get a replacement chord for my brothers Xbox. On the home page a saw a link to the 360 website. I was immedately hooked. I did so much reseach! Then, I found this site. I've been here before there were even these forums!!! Over the days, i became more and more hooked. Trying to decide wether to preorder. It was then I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... Well, you can decifer what i mean by that. But, anyway, on launch day, my alarm clock went off to go to school. I turned my CPU on to find ALL of the 360's were gome. I went to best buy later and 38 systems were sold in 10 minutes. And now I spend most of my time searching the internet for a 360. What's happenin' people?!? I just signed up at Planet Xbox 360 and wanted to say hello and post the short version of how I got my 360. I'll have everyone know I went through hell to get it, too. Of course, this is the extremely condensed version of my story, but here goes:
I showed up at the Best Buy near me at about 9pm on November 21st...it was raining cats and dogs with a 10mph wind. I brought a chair, an umbrella plus appropriate clothes to camp out in the rain for hours and proceeded to sit down (the 9th person in line) and wait in the pouring rain, wind and 45 degree temperature to secure my place to pay entirely too much for a shiny new Xbox 360 premium system. After 9 very long and extremely uncomfortable hours of talking, waiting, and hunkering down under a tarp and umbrella while wearing an insulated stadium parka, the manager and assistant manager finally showed up and handed out numbered vouchers to the first 33 people in line. (I'm going to skip the details about how ridiculously uncomfortable the 9 hours were!) There were 23 premium systems and 10 core systems to be had. Being ninth in line I, of course, got a voucher for one Xbox 360 premium system which I immediately folded and shoved in a waterproof pocket in my jacket. I then drove home, changed clothes, grabbed a bite to eat and drove back to Best Buy to secure my 360. Upon getting back, everyone that had vouchers were finally let into the building's "lobby" area (out of the rain, thank God!) to again WAIT IN LINE while they let 3 people at a time in to get their systems, games and accessories. It was very organized and everything went well. I am now one of the lucky people enjoying a new Xbox 360 power brick. Oh...and the console, too. :top:

I didn't follow video games all that much so I had no idea Microsoft was coming out with a new system until I stopped in an EB store to look around and saw the kiosk. Somewhere around mid October. Thought about the 360 for a while and then decided to try to buy one. I put $50 down at the EB and then traded in some games. $80 down. Few weeks went by and I found out that there was this massive shortage and unless you preordered back in, like, SPRING, you were screwed out of a system until something crazy like April.

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I heard that Wal-Mart was having a midnight sale. So I made plans to get there around 8PM and get in line. By the time I got out of work at 4 PM, there was already 35 people in line for the 30 systems they had. (I called ahead to get the scoop on the situation there.) So much for Wal-Mart...

Best Buy! The morning of. Got up at about 5AM and decided to go and get in line. Yeah, right, people were lining up there at 2PM already, the day before. MAN, folks really wanted this thing!

So I got disgruntled. Gave up. Finally, I got this crazy idea to call a bunch of game stores, in the hope that by some crazy odds, someone didn't pick up their system. Called around and finally got an EB where the guy said that he had ONE Core System still there, and the owner had an hour to pick it up. He told me to call back in an hour and if it's still there it's mine.

So an hour went by and I called. The guy said that the owner of the system was indeed coming by. BUT, he said I should call back in ANOTHER hour to see if the guy no shows. If by that time it's still there, it's mine no questions.

Once he said the guy was coming I kinda gave up. I wasn't going to call back again. But after about 45 minutes, I figured what the hell. I called back and asked him if the system was picked up. He said he was going to check. Came back and said "Still here, it's all yours."

He took my name and I went right over and bought it. I didn't want the Core System but hell, it's better than nothing. Now I just gotta get the hard drive. Oddly, EB didn't have any in stock. Neither did Sears.

Bought Perfect Dark the Limited Edition, so I'm checking that out tonight. Pretty cool stuff.

decided not to even hook it up and drove down to Zero Hour to go pick up some games and all sense i had tickets to it.... wonderful experience

I had preordered 2 online hoping to get atleast one of them, both would be even better. Fully expecting to get them from both sellers from emails saying they would be shipped out around the 21st, latest 22nd. On about the 18th I got an email from one of the guys saying that he wasnt able to get any of the systems so I was happy I still had the other one lined up. I waited and waited finally getting na email from the other guy on the 21st saying he couldnt get his either. I was so pissed I had had lost 2 preorders so I got a refund for both.

Went to Target at 4am on the 22nd and there was a huge line and they had already handed out the tickets the night before. Went to Sears and stood in line with just 3 other people for 2 hours, about an hour before they opened the mangaer came out and said they had no systems, which was screwed up because he had walked by us like 5 times but we didnt know he was the manager because he had been pushing lawn mowers outside to the sidewalk. Discouraged I went to Circuit City and there was a line of about 15 people but a sign on the door saying they only had 11 systems.

I started driving home when my brother called asking me if I found one and I told him the whole story. So him and my other brother started running all over town where they worked and finally found a Sears that had some people waiting in line with a sign on the door saying they had 360's so they got in line about 30 minutes before they opened. Finally the manager came out there and started taking peoples names and giving them numbers, he got to some little boy and his mom in front of my brother and said youre the last one. My brother was so close to getting one, the manger told him they had plenty of accessories which was kind of a f*cked up thing to say LOL, he wsa pissed.

So the night before last I got on eBay just to see what they were selling for, some were going for $1300 which is crazy but people were still bidding on them. Then I did a search on eBay for the buy it now price and within 50 miles of my house. I happened to find a Core which included a Harddrive for $500 that was just listed minutes before I found it. I went ahead and bought it and emailed the seller asking if I could pick it up in person, which he agreed. I found out he just lived about an hour from my house, so after being stuck in yesterdays Thanksgiving traffic for 2 and a half hours driving there I finally got there and Picked it up. It took me another 3 hours to get home, the traffic was awful around Baltimore. I went to walmart and got a wireless controller and DVD remote so I basically had a premium 360 but didnt have the headset or hd cables but I dont have an HD TV so it doesnt matter and Im not going to be getting on Live for another month so Im all set. Im so glad this worked out, this thing is awesome.

i woke up at 4am, went to best buy and all the stores to find too many people in line. i then began worrying because it seemed like i wasnt getting one, but then i felt like checking out costco. its about 6:15 when i get their and thers 9 people in line already. i find out that this costco is getting 24 systems. we all put numbers in our hands so we could sit in our cars, and by 8 when the manager comes to hand out tickets about 30 people were there. he eliminated about 5 people due to membership issues, but still only handed out 22 tickets, regardless of the fact that we could see the pallet through the doors with 24 consoles on it. it was ok though cuz igot one. he told us to go pick it up at 10 am, and when i showed up then ther wer about 300 angry people who wer screaming cuz they didnt get one, and we wer allowed to leave and come back, the manager called the cops. as i was walking in with my ticket i got offered $300 for it. i rejected and picked it up. it was a $480 bundle that came with a game, extra wireless controller, and a play and charge kit.

We went there and there was a long line and they were only etting ten premium. So my mom took me to another target, but they had already passed out their tickets and had no more.
Now we went to Toys R S and ended up they were only getting ten. My mom had dropped my friend and me off at Toys R S while whe went to check Best Buy, and we had NO cellphone so we had to borrow someone elses. She was waiting in line to try to get a ticket at Best Buy.
My friend and I walked across the street to check Sears which ended up onl getting 3.We sat on the side walk waiting for my mom to pick us up. I was getting mad because I had all of the games that i needed, but no 360. I started to lose hope until my mom came down the parking lot and told me that she had gotten a ticket.
My mom bought the ticket for $50, but i had to pay her back. The lady that my mom bought the ticket from let us stand in line with her (it was a long line).

So the other day I decide to make an attempt at getting an Xbox 360. The timeline:

4:00am: Leave work and drive to Target near where I live and soon realize the line is too long. So I head to another Target where the was much smaller. I was informed by other people already in line that I was number 20. And with this Target having 20 units (10 premuim and 10 Core) I figured my chances were pretty good at snagging at least a Core 360.

7:00am: When tickets for the 360 were passed out the number of people in front of me suddenly increased and my chances of success were grim. Since nobody in front of me complained I guessed since it was cold people were doing shiftwork. I figured since I had already wasted three hours of my time another hour or so wouldn't kill me. So I grab an alternate ticket and head over to McDonald's for a much needed bathroom break and some food. I'm not superstitious by nature but when I'm charged $3.60 for my breakfast I start to wonder what's in store for me.

8:00am: Doors open. Everyone files in and we gather around the stack of 360s. As expected, the 10 premium 360s are gone in a matter of minutes and 10 Core 360s remain. The crowd thins somewhat but there are still quite of a few of us left. I wonder if this is how people lining up for jobs feel.

8:23am: I'm still hanging on to my ticket and there are three people waiting for the one remaining 360 - myself, a lady that came in after me, and a boy and his mom. The lady that came in after me already knows she's out of luck but is sticking around because miracles sometimes do happen. I have no idea when the boy showed up. Incidentally, the kid is crying and wearing a sling on one arm (honestly I'm not making this up). I make a decision not to tackle the kid when the 8:30 call for alternate tickets is made. I couldn't live with myself knowing that I had bumrushed a crying boy and his mom just to have an Xbox360 on day one.

8:27am: The clerk behind the counter spots my ticket and tells me I'm not an alternate. All thoughts of being nice vanish. :aetsch:

Well I got to the Best Buy closest to me where my friend was wating in line. He was there at 4:00pm the 2oth! I got there at 5:30pm. We waited all night till they opened at 9:00am the next day. We were Numbers 10 and 11. They had 37 premiums and they were all spoken for at 8:00pm the night before. There were a couple of stinking line cutters, but BB wouldn't do anything about it.

What sucks is that everyone was forced to buy a bundle! The minimum we had to spend was $525! They would not sell you one unless you bought more stuff! So I was railroaded into getting a extra rechargeable battery pack and other stuff!

There is actually a case opening up with our states Attorney General over Best Buy's launch day practices.

I love my 360 though! It looks awesome on my 51" 1080i widescreen set!
I got PDZ and PGR3, both are great! I have also played Halo 2 on it and it looks great!:burnout:

I was able to get 2 of them. But that was after my buddy and i stayed in line in the cold and froze our nuts off in front of Target for over 12 hours. They were going to get 32 of them. 15 Premium,and the rest Core systems. There was a guy that was wearing a UPS jacket and hat that was going from store to store trying to sell them to the highest bidder. He only showed us the manual so we thought something was fishy. We told the manager(who was waiting in line with us too) and he called the "PO-LICE". We had the guy's number and plates and the cop later told us that the guy had a long criminal record and that they were gonna try to catch him in the act . Anyway, after waiting in line until 6am.. They came out with security just in case the person with the tickets got jumped and handed out the tickets. Since i was #7 in line , i got the #7 Premium system ticket. :biggrin: Then i rushed home to take a hot shower, then got back to the store by 7:30am since they opened at 8am.

I was able to get one with no problem. But there were a lot of unhappy people who thought that they could get one by just showing up. :bawling:

I then decided to go to Costco and pick up some games,and accessories since i heard that they were cheaper there. There was a line there of course and i heard that they had a whopping 120!! :rock: But they were bundles. I called my friend who was at work and told him. I offered to pick one up for him if i was able to. They had tickets there too. I didn't have one but decided to wait in line "AGAIN" just in case someone didn't show up. So after all the people who had tickets went in and got theirs, they put up a few "Xbox-Sold Out" signs and told us to hold tight for a few minutes until they did the final count of how many, if any were left. They had about 5 more left out of a total of 120. I got ticket #119 :D I was gonna charge it on my Mastercard, but Costco doesn't accept them :confused: So i asked if i could go to the bank for about 10- 20 minutes to get some cash. The manager was cool and said that he'd hold it for me until then. I can see the people who were still waiting for one that were pretty pissed :mad: :

So i called my friend up and he met me there in front of the store in 15 minutes with the cash. To my surprise about three people were still waiting there in line to see if i was gonna show up. As i ran in to get the manager, i heard a woman say "Grab Him" I gave them all a "Don't even try it look" and walked pass them to the counter. I was hoping that they would try something
because little did they know that i'm a trained martial artist for the past 5 years and i would have taken them all out :fight:

Well I did have one preordered via futureshop online but didn't want to wait for it to ship so i did the early morning waiting outside a local store thing. My two buddies and i got there at 0440ish and were the first ones in line. We allready knew that the store only had 3 prem and 4 core systems , being the first three in line things looked good. Two hours in to waiting and about 5 people behind us a worker comes out to the door we waited at and said that if we were here for the xbox they open the other entrance doors first. Everyone took one of those looks around thinking im running for that other door, and everyone took off. I guess they all figured if they could beat my buddies and I to the front of the line and get a prem bundle. So let me paint a picture, my two buddies are in there early-mid 30s, both of them short, 5foot6-5foot8, and a wee bit over weight and outta of shape, Im 27 6foot2 and in fairly good shape, so you know who was doing the running for the group.

So everyone is running the 100m dash for the other doors trying to be first in line. I started running and flew past everyone with no problem and started to slow down when I got closer to the other set of doors. As i slowed down coming up on the doors the 14 year old kid who was behind us with his mom was still running as fast as he could trying to get to the door ahead of me. Being the good friend that i am and knowing that my buddies would be bringing up the rear in the foot race I gave the kid a forearm-bodycheck into the store window as he came up beside me, and said "there is no way your ******* cutting infront of us you little punk". Thats right I checked a kid into a window to keep him from getting one of my buddies prem bundles.

So I hear that the prices for the Xbox 360 have been announced, and shortly after I make a preorder on Game.net.
Expecting to get one from the site, I didnt bother making any backup plans and decided to just start saving up like hell.
Eventually, I find out that I'll be on second shipment. This totally f*cked me over. I was gutted. What was worse is that it would ruin my birthday (which is today, day of launch) if I didnt get one.

So I go up to the town, and look everywhere just to try and find where would be selling them. I get told from a friend at school that Argos are getting Xbox 360's (instore) and do not take preorders. This seemed like my salvation. How harsh reality was.

Yesterday, sitting in my free period at school, i'm talking to another Argos employee at my table. He says that his Argos and the other one (the latter being the store I wished to get a 360 from) are both fully booked with preorders, with no spare consoles for FirstCome FirstServe.
Again, I was totally gutted. I thought that my birthday would be ruined, and I would have to wait till second shipment (whenever the hell that would be).

With my good mood shattered, I went home, sat on MSN, and talked to some Live contacts. One of them, from nearby Airdrie, said that his local GAME were doing consoles on the day (non pre-ordered ones). It seemed I had a chance...
I jump straight to Yell.co.uk, and find the number for the GAME store in my town. I phone, number busy. Phone again, number busy. Again, again, again, again - no change. Looks like I was doomed, and I had to go out to work with no chance of getting one.

Just before my shoft (5-10) I ring GAME, and finally, they answer. I ask the guy if they will have any, even Core, Xbox 360's available tomorrow (well, today). "Yes". I couldnt believe it, I actually had a chance!

I went the whole night thinking I was definetly going to get one, but I was trying not to get my hopes up.

So, Friday morning, 6:45 AM, on my BIRTHDAY, I get up, get changed and sit about for a while. Feed my cats, and im off.
I figure that people might be there before me, but I take the chance.
Heading to the town, I pop off at an ATM machine - try to withdraw £300, doesnt work. Try to withdraw any more cash, and it says I have exceeded my daily limit. This really p*ssed me off...
How could this happen? Without withdrawing any money I have exceeded my daily limit? Could my luck get ANY worse?

I take out my phone, and ring loving family members that arent at work - Gran. I ring my gran, ask her for the money (£200, I had £10,I would pay her back) but she has reached her overdraft and cant get me any money. F*ck.

Phone my other gran (while my phone battery is low), and she is able to get me £200 (thank god!).

Eventually she comes up, and hands me £250 (£50 for my birthday) and I queue up outside GAME, hoping to god they werent bullsh*tting me.

I go in, get my Core + Memory Card + Headset, and manage to scrounge a lift home off a great guy I met while waiting.

hey all this was an annoying story,

I was up all night yesterday watching the news progress of 360's out of stock! lol i went to comet at 7 in the morning waited for arround an hour then the store opened, with only 10 people queing i was number 2 in line lol, i have preordered the premium already and i was realy goign for it, then the manager goes theres only 10, and people just stormed in grabbing the consoles, never knew they were core, yes comet only had core, I went to the customers desk asked, they go sure we will go get it now for you, about 3 minutes of waiting i see him come abck empty handed! :O

this is were i begin to worry

He said to me and this other preorder guy that the premium pack hasnt been devlivered "WHAT" lol thats all that went through my mind, but he was very ncie and he was willing to take a core console off the people who didnt preorder to please us preorders, i didnt want core and i asked when is it going to be deliverd, he said try tuesday so i asked him will you keep it, not sell it to anyone? he said yes we can assure you you will have it in your hands on tuesday before friday of next week, so im pleased that i dont need to que no more, pritty miffed comet and also the argos delivery of xbox premium didnt show up "DAM microsoft" but its oky im assured that im getting one before x-mas and everyone who got core i fell sorry for becuase they also dont do the harddrives lol.

So i went to tescos and had a breakfast and went back home, and awaiting to return tuesday to pick my 360 up with a smile on my face

A week before the release date i went to all the local Best buys, frys, compUSA, ect and for the most part none of them did pre orders so i was sure if i wait long enough i would get one. My brother and his roomate are self employed so i made a deal with him to start waiting at the walmart by my house because wal mart, for some reason, were the only ones doing a midnight release. 8:30pm comes along while all 3 of us are at the begining of the line with a lot of excited people behind us, and the manager comes out to tell us that only 2 systems were shipped to them (1 prem 1 core) and they were goign to raffle it off. :-O By this time Best buy and all them already had lines twice as long as the qty of xboxs!! I give the manager some harsh words and leave to find an unknown hole in the wall no one would think of to wait for them. COSTCO! Ok its not a hole in the wall but i didnt think anyone would think of it. I go there right before they close and no one is in line. The guy at the front said they are getting 24 packages and it would be first come first serve. W00T! My brother and i wait there for a while and because this costco is so hidden 11:00pm rolls around and still no one. So we decide to go home and sleep and come back early in the morning.

We get there at 5 in the morning and there are only 3 people waiting in line, costco opens at 10am!! 8:00am comes way to slow and there are still only 8 people (including us) in line and he says to make it fair to everyone they are going to raffle the right to buy them off when they open. RAFFLE AGAIN!! I use some harsher words to this manager only to have him walk away while im still yelling. I kick the door a couple times and then go have breakfast. I come back at 9:30 only to see about 150 people there, most of them were just coming to shop, saw the raffle and decided to join in. My brother wins one, i dont. :-(

I curse the sky and M$ and that manager for about 30 minutes until my brother comes out and offers for me to go play it at his house. I tell him where he can stick his xbox and I go to work. I call every store in a 3 hour radius... everyone is sold out, most hung up on me when i mentioned "360".

The next day i decided to e-mail all the ebay fools trying to get 2K for their 360 in a 60 mile radius telling them i would pay $100 more cash and would pick it up today. I get 150 NOs!! Then i get one from a guy with a core with most of the accessories to make it a platnum told me he would sell it to me for $550. I agree cause i am desperate and we meet up. When we met up we talked for a while about games and he ended up givnig me an extra wireless controller and the wireless network adapter for free! Now i paid less for the system then i would of in the first place!! Now im happy but i will still curse that manager at costco every time i see him! Happy hunting!

I went to work 06:00 am december 2nd thinking, wow.. today is the 360 release date, and my order got aborted :( the day went by slow at work (as usual :P) and i had to spend some time in the city, to get on the bus that goes to my town. Wile i was waiting i thought i could check out the game store and look at games and such.

When i got there i though "what the hell, i'll just ask" and i asked them i they had any xbox360's left, he said that he didnt think so.. he went out back and i heard him talk with some other guys "We are completely sould out of 360's, right?" "yeah" another dude replyed. Well, that was what i suspected anyways, but right before he closed the back door a guy yelled to him "There is one core system left!" so i said he should hold it for me while i was checking on some accessories, i could not afford much.

I ended up with the Core system, a memory card (heh half price of the hdd and it was 64mb), Perfect Dark Zero and a 12 month live gold membership.

A pity i couldnt afford the hdd, but.. what the hell! I got the xbox360 on release day :D:D:D

They probably think they can overnight to the whole contry, but the package will take 3-4 days from Sandefjord to Tromsoe. I'll have it on monday at the earliest.

The worst thing is knowning they had plenty of machines at the local Elkjoep, they had 20 premium and 10 core. I where there checking the que at 10.00pm. I would have been able to get one if i had been there earlier in the morning. Knowing that the other one was in the mail i would not risk ending up with two of them... Stood there watching the others get theirs !

At least I got to play the Demo stand, with Kameo, King Kong and COD2.

This weekend sucks, only waiting for monday to rise.

I know i dont live near any of you all but i Live in South Fl and i have called GameStop so many times in the last two weeks i cant even count how many any more and they tell me the same story im sorry but we havent heard anything yet about the next shipment . WTF why not . how can you preorder and promise so many people there item on launch night and not fulfull your part of the deal . Or at least tell you when you will be getting your system . I think there should be some type of compinsation for all this waiting . It started back in June 10. The day I preordered at a local game store called toysnjoys. The day I preordered I asked if I was the first one and they said I was and that when ever the 360 released I would defidently get one. Well November 22nd rolls along and I stroll in after school expecting to pay for my 360 then go home and enjoy it over the long weekend. Then like a slap in the face they tell me that they did not get a single 360. I almost started to cry right there but I held it together and asked them when they were expecting to get it in and they said they had no idea. So any way I have been calling them everyday(and every other electronic store on the island) and they still say they have yet to get one 360. Well I went to there store over the weekend and I saw it, a Core 360 hooked up to there T.V. for people to play. I was furious because if they had a Core 360 then that means they must have gotten there shipment right. I confronted the manager and he said that he went out on his own and got the 360 from another store.BS. I asked if I could buy the core but he refused. So now I have know 360 and have lost trust in the people that run that game store.Man I am pissed.

I was at my local Game Crazy purchasing a few new games, when the manager that was working there told me that they were getting 20 premiums (all on preorder though) and 6 cores. I didnt really want a core, but who was I to be picky since I hadnt preordered or anything. Well, This was about 4pm on the 21st and they were having the midnight thing going on..

I drove home and relaxed, had some dinner and played xbox, and gamecube for a while. 11:15 rolls around and I decide to head for the store (only 5 minutes from my house). I get there and, not only are the 20+ people there (because they had called all the preorders personally and told them to pick it up), but everyone is inside in the nice warm store, and everyone is calm as can be. The two clerks are taking names and getting everything organized so they can get everyone out quick. I am informed that I am the last person of the night that will recieve one (only because a family came, mom and 4 kids, and all purchased one). 12:15 rolls around and I get my system and a HDD and wireless controller and vga cable for my 24" lcd monitor (doubling as my tv now hehe), and 3 games KK, PDZ, and Kameo. I go home play all night, and get in trouble the next day for showing up to work late and looking like I am hung over, but all was well if you ask me...

I do want to say Im sorry for those of you that didnt get one or had to go through hell to get one and hope you get one soon.:dontknow: It is worth the wait, I assure you..... Also, I dont want this to happen to me with the ps3 or nintendo revolution, so I am already number 10 on ps3 preorder and number 2 for nintendo in my district.. hehe See ya's on live!

i got to my bestbuy on friday at 3pm and didnt get sleep. there was about 50 people in front of me and 30-40 behind me and the hours went by so slowly. me and the people near me were scared we werent getting a premium but the bestbuy got 68 premiums and 2 cores! people were butting and around 6am sunday this 15 year old kid tried to but in. every1 started screaming at him then his dad showd up and almost started a fight with everyone until the cops got there and every1 started clapping. at first they thot there was already a fite so they were telling us to go home. every1 got frustrated. after a little bit of talk and calming down, the manager came out and talked to the cops.(i have to say my local bestbuy had poor customer service telling us at night they would have security and we having to call the cops but w/e i just wanted to get my xbox). so the cops then took off around 20 people from the back of the line who wouldnt get a system. then some employees passed out tickets and a paper showing a copy of the accesories. they let in 15 people at a time into the store. and employees passed em out inside one at a time. So FINALLY i got my premium with a two year warranty just in case my 360 overheated, pgr3, cod2, extra wireless, and play n charge. a wireless adapted and 2 live 12month subscription cards, 1600 marketplace points and a memory card are coming in for around christmas. i wasnt very excited at first using it and thot it was cause of no sleep. and this morning, i enjoyed it.

I had a great experience. Even made it into the local paper. I get wind of BB having 30 systems for Dec 18 on Thursday. Saturday I get a text message from a friend of mine stating three tents were already set up. There were two Best Buys in town, so I lazily brave the snowy weather and slick roads to the closest one. I walked up to a group of people in line surrounding a propane heater and ask how many there were. They said 12. So - I opted to stay there and become #13 and told them my wife will be coming with kids the next morning so that would be #14 (She was in line to get a box for us, I was in line to get a box for an employee, who’s system died after Nov 22 launch). They greeted me with open arms.

No issues to really report, it was cold, we would go inside BB and play the 360on display to get warm with no issues - the employee there even changed games for us - almost running to our needs! During the course of the wait, someone’s mom dropped off 10 hamburgers - (Some were inside or weren’t hungry so 10 were perfect.). BB closed at 2300, and later, a wife/mom came by with cookies, coffee and even pizza.

BB employees told the actual numbers at 130, telling us to send home folk after 35. Peeps hit the tents at 230. I got in the car, turned on my engine and slept till 530. Cutters that came by were thwarted by the "Fantastic Fourteen" by being sent to the end of the line around the same time. The wife rolled by at 630 vouchers were passed at 700 - BB opened at 800 - had my machine by 820. No crash issues to date - my PC has been collecting dust, and is now officially retired to a Photoshop workstation.

I would never stand out in 0 degree and flurry weather again, but the experience will never be forgotten. Lots of love and comradeship in the line, and we even made two news stations and the local paper :).

My Xbox 360 Story -

well i had preordered my 360 the same day i bought the rather repitive PSP, now i was told countless times i was getting it on release, i got leaflets, coupons, phone calls and i must have phoned the shop about 5 times in the last week before release.

Well it was 2 days before the magical event, i was all hyped up for a 9am release when 'ring, ring' the phone rang, i snapped out of my 360 daydream and answered it, it was the RAF. They told e i had a medical on he tuesday after the release at 2pm, ok that was fine. I carrie don dreaming about me inside the TVR Sagaris when 'ring, ring' the phone woke me once more. I answered it was the RAF they said 'about your medical, its now at 10am' i was like damn at least i can still get the 360 and drive to Gloucester for my medical, but then she said 'It's in Cardiff, oh and the medical is at 10, you need to be there by 9' I was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

But i phoned GAME to tell them i wouldnt be able to collect until at least 4pm, they were fine the tried to sell me a bundle, ok they did sell me a bundle but anyways. Everything from then went to plan, i got my 360 at 4pm to the evil stares of 20 people in the shop asking about the 360 (im sure if my mum didnt give me a ride i would now be 6 feet under) and im happily playing all my cool games

As far to many people here at PX360 know, I pre-ordered with Gamestop back in July, paid in full with an extra wired controller, PDZ (and others that have since been pushed back), and a play-n-charge kit. I stopped by just about every month, got verification that I as #14 on the first shipment of Xbxo 360s.

Well, about 2 days before launch, I get the dreaded, "We know you really want your 360, but..." which I could stomach, as all but one game of mine was being released this year. 30 days later, no Xbox 360, not even a courtesy call - they even asked me to stop calling.

Yesterday, I was super-pissed because of my work (another story far too long and sordid to post here). I was at the local mall doing to Xmas shopping for my wife, looking for any idea that would be a decent gift. I walk out of Mervins, turn left and pass by EBgames. Lo and behold, my little eye spies a small sign taped to the glass wall that says, "It's a Festivus Miracle, we have 360s instock and ready to sell." No way. It's late afternoon and they've probably already sold them all, though it would be foolish to not check.

I stroll in, wait for a minute while the clerk talked about some game to a customer, then asked the question, "do you have any more 360s in?" "Yep, but only premiums." I buy one, immediately. They tell me that all of their pre-orders have been filled, and by some accident, they were sent double the amount they needed, now they have an overstock and needed to sell them for space.

I leave, walked literally about 100 feet to the Gamestop store where I had my pre-order. I ask Alex, who seemed a little less inept than James, his co-worker, if my pre-order has come in yet. "Nope, we haven't received any since launch day." "You're joking, right? You've only got in 3 since Nov. 22, no more? Well, then why am I able to walk into EBgames, without any pre-order, pick up this *I pull up the 360* and still have to wait for my friggin' pre-order to be filled? You guys own EBgames, why don't you go get their overstock and start filling the pre-orders?!" I think I called him a jackass too, or something worse (it wasn't my most mature moment), anyway, I got the usual "things don't work that way" reply.

Needless to say, I canceled my pre-order, got my peripherals, upgraded from a wired to wireless controller and made a stealthy exit from the mall to my car, as I seemed to get really nervous about having announced my 360 in a crowd of strangers with wanton eyes about. Got home, immediately realized that my whole purpose for going to the mall (i.e., the wife sitting on the sofa) was still presentless, but, decided to bask in my new found toy anyway.

*sigh* relief at last. Its like getting Preparation H after having gone so long without it. Not that I use that, but if I did, I'd know what I was talking about.

okay, a year ago my xbox got thrown out my window, i almost killed my dad but made him give me 250 bucks for 360,I preordered at gamestop in early august, then i saved up, got a job in oct,i called gamestop every day to make sure they would be getting them on time, a few days before the 22nd, they tell me i wont get mine till after christmas, i had 180 dollars in mi account. I yelled at them and say many things like *** **** ******u*** ***** ***** *******, and they cancelled my preorder so i got my money back. broke a 400 dollar keyboard barely had enough, I work at target, so the 21 of nov i went there with a chair and some chips in a t shirt and shorts at 3:00 in the afternoon , people started showing up at 4, but if they hadnt i made my dad stand out there from 1 oclock to 3 when i got off school, still milking the whole throwing out the window thing, it got cold fast. the store got 6 premium and 6 core, by 8 oclock there were 6 of us standing there under an over hang on one end of the door, and in a while core spots were being taken, it was so cool because once all spots were taken, all of us premium people were under the over hang on one side, and all the core people were under the other on the other side. it was like two completely seperate sides. then when anyone came up we just told them all spots filled and they walked away sadly because they were stupid.now it was very cold at 7 oclock, and we had to wait till 8 AM. but this one kids dad brought ten pizzas for us premiums and a bunch of soda, I downed like 8 dews and 2 pizzas.and someone brought blankets and when it got cold we would go to their cars and get warm, one kid had a psp and we watched family guy and southpark, and someone had a dvd player and we watched stealth.The core people got nothing they slept on the other side while we had so much fun, while i waited me and my frend went over to a comp usa accross the street and acted like we needed a spot in the line that was already too full, so after we nearly caused a huge fight with 25 people and we walked back laughing our as*es off. and whenever I had to go, well, uh, u know, I just went to a pond next to the store and uh ya, but cars could c me, so i had to check for cops and watchout for splashes from my leakage, i was first in line. this kid bought a glow in the dark football and we played 2 hand touch, i wanted to play rugby, but they didnt want to on the asphalt.and i got invited to the second kegger that week, which i must be stealthy about getting there and what time i go home at, usually the night after, because im only 16. when 7:30 AM hit we got our tickets, I got number one premium ticket, we waited till 8 oclock, i got offered 350 dollars just for the ticket to go in and buy the 360, I said hahaha, no,but i wanted to go to best buy and auction it off 4 like 1500 bucks but then my dad picked me up and said " oh i have to go to work now ur going home" and by the time i got back there there would have been noone there. The best part is, I got 10 percent off my 360, games, controllerz,charge kits, and everything else because I worked there. After me and my frend got our 360s we drove by that comp usa holding them out our windows yelling and laughing at them because it opened an hour later. hahahahahahaha.

I call in a few weeks ago "when will you have 360s?" and some asian chick says "they say no till malch" so a couple week later i'm in and see a flyer saying they will have 12 at 6 AM jan 1, so i think "oh kool, but my parents prolly wont let me" so i still mention it and they say ok. on the 30th i was at a hockey game and me and my friend put sailors to shame with our cussing and there were little kids right in front of us, yet noone says anything till we get home and my dad says"i'm not taking you to wal mart for a week if you cuss tommorrow" so i dont cuss, my dad's kinda disappointed he has to go.

so we drive there after church and there is one car. one. so we head home to do something and we get back still only 2 cars besides us till 2:30 then 1 more comes and it's quiet, just some person driving around the parking lot like an idiot till one more comes at 4, then we all go in at 4:45 and there are 8 of us. i was #4, then at about 5:30(store opened at 6) people started coming in every 5-10 minutes, but i dont think the earlybirds got them all bc of hangovers and "oh the people who really want them bad will be there at like 9 the night before."


to pass the 4 hours i was there we brought our portable DVD player and watched "the terminal" and deleted scenes from anger management. that was only in the car though, when we got in line we just talked about halo 2 and stuff to pass the time, which flew by, and here it is 8:23 AM and i'm still up

hey all this was an annoying story,

I was up all night yesterday watching the news progress of 360's out of stock! lol i went to comet at 7 in the morning waited for arround an hour then the store opened, with only 10 people queing i was number 2 in line lol, i have preordered the premium already and i was realy goign for it, then the manager goes theres only 10, and people just stormed in grabbing the consoles, never knew they were core, yes comet only had core, I went to the customers desk asked, they go sure we will go get it now for you, about 3 minutes of waiting i see him come abck empty handed! :O

He said to me and this other preorder guy that the premium pack hasnt been devlivered "WHAT" lol thats all that went through my mind, but he was very ncie and he was willing to take a core console off the people who didnt preorder to please us preorders, i didnt want core and i asked when is it going to be deliverd, he said try tuesday so i asked him will you keep it, not sell it to anyone? he said yes we can assure you you will have it in your hands on tuesday before friday of next week, so im pleased that i dont need to que no more, pritty miffed comet and also the argos delivery of xbox premium didnt show up "DAM microsoft" but its oky im assured that im getting one before x-mas and everyone who got core i fell sorry for becuase they also dont do the harddrives lol.

So i went to tescos and had a breakfast and went back home, and awaiting to return tuesday to pick my 360 up with a smile on my face

So I started checking Circuit City.com every morning and finally on Friday (Dec 30th) they had the premium bundle in stock, so I placed my order. It shipped the same day and arrived 3 days later. Finally i went to a Virgin Megastores, near my house in Scotland and they sed they would be gettin six in the next day so i went down nice and early, bought my premium pack and left the shop with a large smile. I took it home only 2 find that the disc tray refused 2 open and the ring around the power button was flashing red!! it was Fu**ed! But i did get a full refund!!

Oh man! My story! Woo! Well, here it goes: It first started when I was online. Then I saw an Advirtisment for Xbox 360. At got so intrested I started to save up. Once it came out, there I was. In my tent outside Best buy. We were three Days early! Well, 10 minutes till' opening time, and now ones here. I'm a Sony PS3 supporter. Personally, I don't think Sony bull****s, but then I think mountaineering isn't dangerous, unless the rope breaks - but, whatever.

I own a PC, but to be quite honest, I like sitting infront of a 40" HD LCD TV without a keyboard. I tried waiting for the PS3, but it's just impossible and the only reason I wait is because of Epic's UT2007 and thinking on that, I wonder why - the PC would do it better (in terms of control).

So I bought an Xbox 360. I did this because a friend of mine got the complete system and had PGR3, DoA4 and NFS for it and I had a few hours freedom. Now before I hit the diatribe, let me get this out of the way: I will say straight away that PGR3 was a disappointment. There's something just plain bad about the game and it's in no way anywhere near what I expected. And Sony bull****s?

DoA4 and NFS, on the other hand, simply shocked me into disbelief. I really did not believe that the Xbox360 this early in game development could do that at 60fps without a single hitch in frame rate - the fluidity and detail is just really, really, very impressive. The textures in HD-mode is just unbelievable - a high-end PC could not do that in that same way at 60fps, with no hiccups in frame rate - I know my **** with PCs. It was completely unexpected.

NFS is what PGR3 should have been. I played that for 2 hours and thought I was just messing about with it for 10 minutes. I couldn't stop playing it. It's graphically better than PGR3. PGR3 is just plain awful as racing game. What in the hell is that all about?

DoA4 had me for an hour, but only because I found watching another playing it more satisfying than playing it myself. God it's hard too, and I'm good at beat'em ups.

Bottom line with the Xbox 360 is that I think Microsoft plugged 'HD-era' because if you play the Xbox360 without a HD TV... you may as well get an Xbox. The standard definition is no good with this console - you WILL be disappointed. Plug this console into a decent 16ms HD TV with a very good grey-to-grey response, and you will have a heartattack. It's graphic quality is higher than my PC's and the LCD monitor on that is a NEC1980Fxi.

Sony; your no.1 fan just defected. HAVE A NICE DAY.

I'm from NYC bought a premium (it also had the free remote in the box) on 1/24at the Circuit City in Union Square along with a hot rod blue face plate and the city advantage protection plan. Only waited for 1 hour before the store opened. Paid retail and went to my old job and bought Call of Duty 2, PDZ and PGR3 below retail and no tax. I've been loving it ever since.
PS I had to sacrafice my xbox and 94 games (she gave me 3 years of video gaming pleasure). I also sold my 2 Jordan Nike Bulls jerseys but I don't regret it.

Thanks for the idea but I don't like renting games. I don't even rent DVD movies (I have over 150 DVD movies). I like the option of playing the game or seeing the movie whenever I want. well, heres my 360 STORIE

after many long days of saving and selling all my other game consoles on EBAY, (n64-gamecube-supernintendo-gameboy-gba-gbasp-loads of games and some other stuff i forgot) i finnaly had enough mula. on launch day i went out to wal mart hoping to be like 5th in the line , i go there atlike 7pm and the line was maxxed out (14 people) so i returned to my car and lisin to my mom talk about how the people in the line were lieng, but i knew they werent. there were 2 HUGE FAT black girls (women, mebe 25 years old) and theyve been there since frikin 8 am. so i sat and acctually cried a bit in the car, than my mom begane to drive to bestbuy, i look out the window and see only 9 people in the line, so i stopped crieng GOT UP, GOT TUFF- and marched to that line! (after begging my mom and dad to let me miss school and stand outside in the freezing rain for 12 FU*KI*G hours) , and than i got to the line and every 1 congradulated me to be #10 . so i was happy for about 4 hoursish, in my comfy chair with my psp, playing others in twisted metal and nfsmw and midnight club...
the store had not closed yet , so i was just waiting for it to close so the guys could bust out the pizza and beer. wen i see 3 police cars (security) come up and say we cant stay there anylonger. so out of our 360 instincts we got up and said simply 1 word.................ok. CYK! lol, we rele said no and refused to move, we forced the manager to come out and speak to the security people ( more like the evil black lady whocouldent make it into the police force) . but the issue was that bestbuy didnot own the parking lot. (noghtingham did. - i live in baltimore MD, so dont ask) so 1 by 1 the best buy homies came outside and handed slips for the 360 so we can pick it up in the morning. so all i had to wait was just 4 hours, i was like ARE U KIDDING, THIS OWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we were thanking the security and we all went up and shook her hand, and she was acting all proud and saying "just trying to do my job " but rele we all were like "thx u fkn nig" NO OFFENSE, I AM NOT RACIST, I SWARE.. i love black people, u all own ..the that lady was being a total bizach. so, happily ever after i whent home . slept , got up and got my 360 i was number 10 of 63. well, heres my 360 STORIE

after many long days of saving and selling all my other game consoles on EBAY, (n64-gamecube-supernintendo-gameboy-gba-gbasp-loads of games and some other stuff i forgot) i finnaly had enough mula. on launch day i went out to wal mart hoping to be like 5th in the line , i go there atlike 7pm and the line was maxxed out (14 people) so i returned to my car and lisin to my mom talk about how the people in the line were lieng, but i knew they werent. there were 2 HUGE FAT black girls (women, mebe 25 years old) and theyve been there since frikin 8 am. so i sat and acctually cried a bit in the car, than my mom begane to drive to bestbuy, i look out the window and see only 9 people in the line, so i stopped crieng GOT UP, GOT TUFF- and marched to that line! (after begging my mom and dad to let me miss school and stand outside in the freezing rain for 12 FU*KI*G hours) , and than i got to the line and every 1 congradulated me to be #10 . so i was happy for about 4 hoursish, in my comfy chair with my psp, playing others in twisted metal and nfsmw and midnight club...
the store had not closed yet , so i was just waiting for it to close so the guys could bust out the pizza and beer. wen i see 3 police cars (security) come up and say we cant stay there anylonger. so out of our 360 instincts we got up and said simply 1 word.................ok. CYK! lol, we rele said no and refused to move, we forced the manager to come out and speak to the security people ( more like the evil black lady whocouldent make it into the police force) . but the issue was that bestbuy didnot own the parking lot. (noghtingham did. - i live in baltimore MD, so dont ask) so 1 by 1 the best buy homies came outside and handed slips for the 360 so we can pick it up in the morning. so all i had to wait was just 4 hours, i was like ARE U KIDDING, THIS OWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we were thanking the security and we all went up and shook her hand, and she was acting all proud and saying "just trying to do my job " but rele we all were like "thx u fkn nig" NO OFFENSE, I AM NOT RACIST, I SWARE.. i love black people, u all own ..the that lady was being a total bizach. so, happily ever after i whent home . slept , got up and got my 360 i was number 10 of 63. NOT! heres the deal, they told us to be there at 7 , so i did . wen i got there , there was a riot of people yelling things to the people, and only a lil bb people were outside and the doors were a little but open / / about that much , in real world time. so , my mom was like , HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLL NO! , so she opend the doors and was yelling for the manager and she was like " MY SON WAS OUT HERE FOR A REALLY LONG TIME! yeah so i didn't pre-order for months, i said fack the bundles and all that crap.. then ritzcamera.com offered the systems for just a little above msrp so i pre-ordered. that was in the beginning of september. a month ago i get an email saying 'oh boo hoo we oversold yada yada yada' so i cancelled that crap. screw them for recklessly overselling. i can do without a 360 anyway, besides i sold my hdtv and i don't feel like sinking $3000 for a new one plus $900 on the 360 and games.

so i'm bumming around walmart 2 weeks ago and ask one of the nerds working in electronics how many systems they were getting, he said like 10 if that. now mind you, this is a super walmart but it's in the middle of nowhere so he might be right. well screw that, i'm not lining up for hours to get some ticket that says i'm allowed to buy something. screw it i can do without a 360 anyway.

so then last week circuitcity.com says they're gonna sell whatever remaining units they have, first come first served. ok i'll try this out since it doesn't involve standing out in the fackin cold with nerds all night. so yea the site starts selling the units 20 mins late and all hell breaks loose. the entire circuitcity.com site crashes and burns. but hmm about an hour and 18 minutes later, after relentlessly pounding the ordering system i get in, and wow this time i can actually get through the check-out process, amazing. yep so fedex says my stuff will arrive tomorrow, which just-so coincides with the arrival of my new sony xbr960 hdtv.

so yesterday i pop back in to visit the walmart nerds and pick up some games. oh sorry we cannot sell you the games until midnight tonight. come again doofus? then they start checking fackin bestbuy circulars and crap seeing if release dates are mentioned. i leave the nerds arguing with each other and hit up EB next door, pick up a handful of games, leaving plenty enough time to come home and spank one off thinking about how awesome this has all been.

so now you can all hate me for waiting so long, not even caring, yet still getting a system.

I opened it and the wireless controller case was smashed a little, the battery pack was also smashed, and the 360 box was opened a little. I called Sears, and they said that I could send it back and wait 6 weeks for another one. I was furious and asked if I could at least check out the system and see if it was working and if not, send it back. They said it was OK. I plugged it in, and miraculously it worked. Both controllers worked (although the second one has a tiny rattling sound if it's shaked a little). So, it's been a day, and the 360 has experienced NO problems whatsoever.I am now the proud owner of a Premium 360 :Proud:

So just after christmas my better half proves again why I love her so much by saying 'I never know what to get you for your birthday how about half towards your new game thingy'. Well a friend works at my local GAME store and after a chat to him he promised to give me prior notice of premium package restocks. 26th of Jan I walked into my local GAME and staggered out again carrying a very weighty xbox360 premium package; extra wireless controller; tiger woods (the missus loves it); and Condemned. Now comes the woeful part of my tale I'm not allowed to touch it till 26th and it is sat lonely and longed over in my spare bedroom. All month I've been psyching myself up and making more than a few purchases (PGR3; Kameo; PDZ; Quake4; DOA4; play and charge kit; extra rechargeable battery; Broadband connection (BT they're giving a free years gold sub with connection); DOA4 guide book). I am now at explosion point then my dear lady hits the detonator with the words 'Darling you're going to be a dad'. So far it's been a hell of a month.

Ok, here's my freakin' annoying story:

So I am on the internet and see that the 360 is available to preorder. So I ask my parents for one, they say it's too expensive, only one other solution.

Trade in all my consoles, PS2, Nintendo DS, Xbox.
Xbox - Around £60
PS2 - £100 with all accessories to my mum's friend, and games included.
Nintendo DS - £40
Games for DS - £40
That equals £240. So I put that towards 360, my Mum and Dad put £40 and get a game, as a Christmas present. So I don't get it till Christmas. I was told I won't get it till 16th December, aslong as it's before Christmas. So then, My Mum goes in to Gamestation on the 16th, and they say I won't get it till January, so I got a PSP instead. Leaving me with £150 left out of the money I had. So I get the PSP, then my birthday, which is in 2 days today (Wednesday) is when I'm getting my 360. I put £150, parents but £110 (£20 deposit but Gamestation gave it back to us so our 360 is £20 cheaper!).

I do get it, finally. In February. And it's sitting in my parents room, ready to open for my birthday!
