Does anyone know if the new Xbox360 games will also run on the old Xbox? 'cause I'd rather just buy new games...ahem, Halo3 for example (when it comes)...on the old Xobox and not have to spend $300 for a new system.

-thanks

Not true. Microsoft said that the most popular Xbox games will run on the 360.

No, he's talking about the other way, the xbox playing 360 games. It's not possible, why would it be? Making a new console just so people can buy better looking games and play them on their old one? No way.

Its kinda like buying dvds and expecting them to work in your VCR- not compatible. As goes for Xbox 360 games working in your original Xbox- not compatible. Soory to burst your bubble, but you could start saving up money for the new system now. Do a pop can collection, drive to Oregon and get 5 cents for each can. Just think, 20 cans = $1. So you need about 6,000 cans to buy the system, then another 1,000 cans for a game.

What are you waiting for?! Get out and start collecting!

sorry, not really possible or applicable. you can't run triplex2 threaded data on a single thread processor, not only that but the game engine would have to downgrade to below-minimal req. for non USA processes on the gpu.

iNvidia would have to emulate ATI graphics, which is under a different binary and language/code structure. plus the intel 233mhz cpu would have to somehow generate 10(exp. 3) times the processing power.

sorry. not possible unless you upgrade your xbox, which would mean buying an ATI c1 gpu for about $200 and a IBM tri-core processor for god knows how much.

what a waste of time.

oh yeah and don't make me get into bandwidth and cache issues. never mind about upgrading your hardware. it's cheaper by at least $600 to just get the 360.
