I've been noticing that when using a cell phone headset with my wireless controller the sound quality of voice on live isn't that good. Not as good as on the original xbox.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this and maybe if i buy the 360 headset the quality will improve? It just sounds kind of fuzzy. i'm also noticing a lot more echoing too in pre-game lobbies in COD2.

It depends on who is hosting the game. People with cable modems and DSL usually don't have enough upstream to host a big CoD2 game.

this is why i never host a game as i have a 3meg connection which is about 350k down but only 35k up and that causes problems on metal of honor when i host a game on the pc.

Echo on XBL is caused by people having thier systems on to loud it echos back in thier headset. Look at who is echoing and ask them to turn down the sound.

I don't know, make your own thread. I just need one single person to answer me a question. AM I THE ONLY ONE GETTING EXTRA STATIC WHEN PLAYING ON 360 LIVE?

I also noticed the quality of voice being bad on the 360. At first I thought it was the new headset, so i plugged in the old xbox headset into the mini jack, still sounded like junk. I still wonder if the quality is only bad with the wireless controllers. If anyone has tried this with a wired controller that would help.

My friend got a wired controller, we tested it but it didn't do much better. I am wondering if it's the compression that's being used. It seems to be better if I am in a game.
