my brother has it and said he already had to re charge it twice. I have had my xbox since it was released out here and i still have 3/4 the battery power left on the normal batteries. Im sticking with just regular AA.

first of all you have to let it charge fully. It says it gives you 36 hours of play. well if you plug in a headset that uses more battery power so that 360 goes down. and also my freind has it and when he plays with it plugged in it falles out alot becuae there is nothing to hold it in. so pretty much the only time you can use it is when your not playing so prettu much its not a play & charge kit just a charge kit:motz:

mine works fine, I recharge it once every 3-4 days just for the heck of it
keep in mind though the plug and play pack will last quite awhile. Fact is your AA's will eventually run out and you'll buy more, then more, then more and eventually will have spent 2-3 times what the pack costs. Just depends on which you wanna do, or if you already have some rechargable AA's I'd use those

im just waitning till my AA's run out till i go get the P&P, with two controllers thats another $40 to drop down, but it'll be well worth it imo

My play and charge kit works great, I charge it once a day even though it doesnt need it. I think MS did a great job coming up with it, in the long run it will save me a lot of money by not having to buy batteries. I dont know what is up with your friends kit CSKeller but mine stays plugged in the controller tight, he might have done something to make it loosen up like chip a small piece off of it or something. Anyways I recommend getting one if anyone out there hasnt already.
I love mine, i charge mine every couple of days even tho its not needed, and even charge via usb on my PC if the 360 is off. works great and will save $ on batteries in the long run.
But for all you AA people out in xbox360 land you can add extra life to you AAs by turning off the vibrate feature.

I just got a wireless controller tonight, and I planned to wait til Xmas for the charge kit.
How long do the batteries generally last, if I play, say, no more than 5 hours in a day?

If you don't like the kit you could always just go out and get rechargeable batteries.:albertein

i like the charge kit... i think play time varies depending on the type of games you play. like if they feature gameplay that has a lot of rumble feedback or not - the more rumble the less battery life obviously... i don't know if the charge and play pack is more cost effective than buying regular AA rechargeable batteries since with those you can always have wireless play and buy enough sets to play with one and have one waiting all charged up - plus you can use them elsewhere if needed
