If you look at all console launches (past, present and future) you will get the same feeling of being underwhelmed.
Launch titles are (nearly) always not a major leap of innovation from previous gen consoles. Sure graphics are better on a lot of titles, but to meet launch deadlines games are rushed.
Before you start getting bent outa shape, Bungie have admitted rushing some levels on Halo (one of, if not THE best launch titles ever) just to make launch.
(Lets face it some later levels ARE repetitive)
I am not dissin' the 360. I will be getting one myself. However, I had one preordered, but decided to let someone more eager have it instead. I am not crazy, I just wanted to wait a bit longer for some more AAA titles to be released.
I will be getting my 360 when Oblivion is released, as this will truly be a next gen defining game capable of showing what 360 is truly capable of.
Don't get angry or upset about not getting a 360 before Christmas. I didn't have to wait in all kinds of weather, be held up at gunpoint, spent 12-15 hours outside a store just to be dissapointed when I preordered months ago.
I will wait a few months til the teething problems are resolved and some more AAA titles are out. Buy some launch titles at a discount/2nd hand. Plus Hi-Def has not been introduced in the U.K. yet, next year Sky will launch Hi-Def satellite service. Then more T.V.'s capable of showing 360 at it's best will be available, and cheaper too.
I know a hell of a lot of you will dissagree with what I have posted, but that's my opinion, and freedom of speech is a given right of democracy.

i see your point, abd totaly agree with you, i was not nearly excited about the launch games that we have as i was about the ones that were either pushed back (elderscrolls) or scheduled for a later release (ghost recon) but i had the the money and the connections to get one on laubch so i went ahead and got it, but if i dodn't i would have lived and wouldn't have had much a of a problem waiting till 06

People still want them, and making those kiosks was so brilliant, I played that damn COD demo so many times I could beat the level with my eyes closed.
i turned down my launch concole. The launch games dissapoint me, the problems although minor, make me hesitant,
I will get one when I can point click and answer the door the next mornig.

most of the games at launch usually do suck but COD2 is awesome! I think having any item before anyone can get it is excitement in itself, it brings out the kid in all of us (some of us still are). I am really excited about mine and havent stoped playing it since i got it. The controllers and the streaming music are the best parts aside from the fact i can finally utilize my HDTV with my games instead of always having to PC game for good gfx. If you had a pre order i dont see why you just didnt get it in the first place and atleast try to sell it online for double, make some money off it!

Though about it, for like 2 seconds !!
I HATE people who rip gamers off, I remember when PS2 was launched in Japan.
4 days later I saw one in a local store for £600.00 that's pounds sterling not dollars (roughly $1000.00)
RIP OFF

well there still is a large part of the gaming community that likes to be known as having said system on day one....I happen to be part of that group...lol. Yes alot of the games were under whelming and most of us are getting it more for the future games not for the launch titles...but all the same I am not dissapointed in my purchase. I haven't had any issues I couldn't figure out myself with it, and the games I have played have been exactly what I wanted outta them. And again...since when has great games equaled just great graphics?

You never had one on pre-order then at the last second decide that the kid next to you wanted one, so you gave it up. any gamer, I dont care how "hardcore" he is, wouldnt do that. I only play MAYBE an hour a day, if that, but I waited in line to get mine. Just like some others been saying you have it on day one. All of the launch titles bring something to the table and are fun to play. Sure there isnt a halo, but screw it when you have games like PDZ and COD2. Esp when the game you want comes out soon. oh well. Im off to play some PDZ

I love my 360, it is the most amazing system i have ever seen but thats a given. The launch titles I have, COD2 and PGR3 are great games and I love them. It seems to me that since you dont own one that you dont completely understand the joy to have such an awesome system that I havent had one single problem out of. You do have a good point on the game situation at launch but that has always been known that the best games usually have to be waited for. The feeling of having a system at launch is great, think back to Genesis, the 64, etc. Those were some great times but they dont compare to what the 360 brings to the table. I think once you play a friends 360 you will regret not having it ASAP.

I didnt want to wait, I had the chance to get it before the majority of everyone else and I took the chance.
