1080i help

hi got my 360 my tv is 1080i ready but in the xbox 360 menu when i try to change the settings to 1080i there is no picture then changes back to 480p am i doing something wrong cheers

Well first there is the HDTV switch on the video plug that goes in the back of the 360....make sure it is on HDTV and not TV. Second, make sure you are using the right plugs in the back of your tv...my tv has two places for component plugs, one set is for HDTV and the other is not. Only one set supports HDTV. Other than that I cannot think of what it may be unless you can change your tv settings somehow.
