View Full Version : Apple Slowly Joining Forces With Sony
PlayStation 3 processor to support Mac OS X Tiger (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1221)
Apple Joins Blu-ray Disc Association Board of Directors (http://finalcutpro.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=31197)
I don't know what this means for the Xbox 360, but Apple and Sony are Microsoft's two main enemies at the moment, and them joining forces is not good.

Well, well, well, this is making things a lot more interesting. Time for M$ to make some new friends with Toshiba and Samsung. Although I am rather hesitant about Blu-rau and HD-dvd altogether. Whichever wins, the other company loses mass amount of money. Frankly, I see everything going to downloadable content instead of dvd storage. I do not see either Blu-ray or HD-dvd being completely integrated into society.
It is interesting to note how M$ is having to support hardware companies now that they are fully invested into the gaming industry. Before hand they would not have cared too much. I suspect that Blu-ray will win in the end, but it's win will be short lived as something more advanced and economical will come along.

i'd like to see removable drive storage for games instead of disks, where you can download/buy the game at the game store and download it onto your harddrive on your console. no more disks, and depending on how big the harddrive is (it's removable, so you can get bigger ones and more than one) you can store your games with no worrying about scratching those stupid lenses. no more need for game-disc lasers and it'd save a bunch of money harware-wise.
