I hope someone can help me out here. I have my settings on my tv to 1080i to play tiger woods and NBA 2k6. But when I went to play perfect dark it would not load. At first I thought that maybe something was wrong but then I changed the TV settings to 720p since that is the only definition that PDO supports. It then worked. I thought that you could set it on its higest setting and then if a game didnt support that resolution it would automatically downsize to that. My question is do i have to go into my settings and change the screen to 720p everytime I wanna play PD0, or is there a way to make the settings so it automatically does that, because if there is such a setting I cant seem to find it. THanks a lot guys.

PDZ in 1080i works great for me. The text is a little close to the edge, but other than that OK.

And besides you really want to run your gaming in 720p, which is usually more ideal for HD motion content.

Grabbed this from AVS forums:

1080i: interlaced is like it sounds, interlaced lines of horizontal resolution, so that when a picture of 1080i is "drawn" on the screen, 540 lines go in the first pass, the other 540 lines in the next pass.

720p: progressive means all horizontal lines of resolution are "drawn" in one pass. therefore all 720 lines that make up the horizontal resolution of the picture are drawn at once.

The advantage of 1080i is a sharper still image, 720p is slightly less sharp, but supposedly has smoother display of motion.

My TV supports both but I leave the 360 on 720p. Hope this helps!

I just realized that didn't really answer your question though. Not sure but I would guess it is a TV thing. I played PDZ on both 1080i and 720p with no problems. And to be honest i couldn't see a difference in quality. They both looked great.
