Gamers Losing Patience

People are starting to lose patience as they wait on their preordered Xbox 360's from Amazon, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and other retailers to arrive.

Microsoft did admit last week that there was a shortage in "chips", but they didn't say there was going to be any delays for additional shipments. However, some of the retailers are waiting too. Phones ring each day from Xbox 360 pre-ordered consumers wanting to know when they will receive their console. They are either told, "The shipments are coming..." or, "We are waiting on Microsoft."

Most people are getting the idea that perhaps, they won't get their pre-ordered Xbox 360 in time for Christmas. They didn't mind not having one before Thanksgiving, but now another holiday is approaching and they would like to use their time playing on the Xbox 360.

Amazon customers are still devastated about their pre-orders. They have not arrived yet. Some people had to depend on high bids through eBay to get their game consoles.

It's really hard to say anymore on when the pre-order consumers will finally get their Xbox 360, with things changing each week and Microsoft grasping at new things to say, such as the "chip shortage."

Even tho i have a 360 it still makes me angry that they are having shipment problems. :mad: The whole point of this early launch was to get a big start from the rival, PS3. With delays like this it isnt gonna go very well. People are getting fustrated and may end up waiting for the PS3. Now thats a long wait but its possible... I think Micorsoft was not prepared for the world releases of the 360's. IMO

Well you must live in the middle of no where with a population of 1000 including farm animals and fat old people bc i preordered at my local gamestop on 8-1-05 and i still am waiting on my 360.:thefinger

Heck I did not pre-order and glad I didn't. Having the money hung up at some retail store (Gamestop / EB Games) is B$. Even thou you can go back and get your money back, you still have to wait just like everyone else.


I am figuring they will be in this week, Bestbuyon the 18th but maybe some other stores will have them out ASAP. You never know....calling around every morning and evn stopping by some stores at open before work helps! :reddy:

Lol nah, i worked at target before i came to college, still have my discount card for 10% off, then got a target visa so i got another 10% off. i got premium(400)+PGR3(50)+PDZ(50)+Wireless controller(50)+batter(12)+play and charge(19)-20% so i only payed like 464 when i shoulda payed like 581. If you know anyone that works at target just ask to borrow there discount card they don't check your id or anything to see if its your card. a couple of my friends have my old discount cards.

I pre-ordered a while back as well (july), but I'm not too concerned about not getting my 360 yet. I may get it this week, who knows, but still, the game selection is a little weak, whcih is why I do not care too much.

But, I do think of this shortage as a means to alienate current and potential customers from the product. And the fact that only 40% of the Xbox360s sold in Japan makes me a little pissed as EVERYONE knew that the Japanese are not to keen on foriegn tech. Couple that with the lackluster games and you have an unappealing product gathering dust on Japanese shelves- despite the lower price. I would have shipped about 50,000 units to Japan, then wait an see if the product caught on. Meanwhile, the US and European gamers wait impatiently for their pre-orders to be filled.

agreed, i think they were hopeing for japan to see how crazy we were going over it and thought that would make them want the 360 more. What ever the reasoning behind shipping so many was, it was a bad move. I pulled most of my stock from M$ before this qtr ends, i dont think they are going to hit their mark of units sold that they promised their investors. :ciao:

Lol yeah no hard feelings, hey but order online next time dude, i did, and i ordered at eb and it went smothly, i think they still have core systems left online...im not sure, but at launch date, you could order a core and there was no line man lol, and for the record im in a third world country, where the 360 hasnt even come out so that should make u feel even crapier about not having a 360 lol :P
