$650 for an LCD with a 3D digital comb filter - it's a steal.
Don't take my word on it - check out the CNET rreview below:
CNET ranking: 7.3 out of 10 - very good
Pros: Has a 3D digital comb filter, which is more favorable than some similarly priced TVs. In fact, the typical cost of a product with this favorable a comb filter is $3,560. (A 3D filter is one of the best types available, and is "motion adaptive," meaning it utilizes a special method for clearing up the moving parts of the picture, as opposed to the static parts.) In addition, this TV supports multi-channel preview (PIP), when connected to a VCR. This television can display images that are sharper and more realistic than regular television when hooked up to a high definition signal. The 3:2 pulldown feature of this set reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.
Cons: Has only a 500:1 contrast ratio. This is not out of line with the product's price, but is lower than the average TV on the market today.

I'm not a huge fan of LCD screens due to the motion blur that occurs with fast moving objects. There are newer LCD technologies that address this, but not in the price range your looking at. My biggest beef with the set your looking at is the contrat ratio, which is extremely poor.
My feeling is unless you have room contraints stick with your CRT and save up your money to buy a better LCD or look at some of the CRT HD ready tvs. Check out the Samsung TXR2779H - it's only $569.99 at bestbuy

Another thing to consider is the SED (surface-conduction electron-emitter display - developed by Toshiba) and OLED (organic light-emitting diode display- developed by Samsung) sets will be released in 2006. Once this occurs you will see the price of LCD and Plasma sets drop considerably.

thanks for the feedback Bentout but you really think i shouldn't get the maxent it has the same features as the samung but Is a LCD, does LCD anything good??? i know it black-out which is hard to beleive unless i see it, but i dont want to see it on my tv lol
and this tv doesn't look bad and for 650 im ready to buy it, but i dont want to regret it.

Like I said before - a 27" LCD for $650 is a good deal. You just have to be comfortable with the cons that come with the set. If your set on an LCD in that price range than it's a no brainer - buy the set. You shouldn"t have any regrets - it's a decent set for the price.
Good luck with your decision - let me know how it works out.
