the reason i'm not worried about the ps3 winning the war is that 1. the games for it will not look like the ones at E3. the killzone 2 graphics will be on ps4 not ps3. 2. LOOK at the most awkward controller ever, it looks like a freakin boomarang it will take at least a year to get used to. 3. the only big thing that ps3 has the advantage on is the 2 teraflops to the 360's 1 teraflop. 4. the bandwidth on the 360 is nearly 6x the bandwidth of the ps3. 5.the shader point for the 360 is 1.07x better on the 360 than the ps3. 6. the free xbox live silver is gonna bring alot of gamers to buy the 360. and last but not the least awful is the design of the ps3 it cant be laid on its side unless they make a stand because the console design is so awkward. so im not worried at all.

Great points about the akward design of the PS3 controller and the unknown cost of the unit. It is clear that Microsoft will be losing around $75.00 per unit sold, which is right around an industry average. With the technology and hardware the PS3 is discussing the unit will have a much higher price point, which might scare aware some parents.

even if i liked ps3 best....i still couldn't get it
The 360 will more than likely win the console war in the US and Europe, but is in for a hard time in Japan.
1,000 Japanese consumers aged between 10 and 59 were questioned in a survey, with 60 per cent choosing the PlayStation 3 as the next-gen system they're most interested in, followed by the Nintendo Revolution on 8 per cent and the X360 on just 2 per cent.

Is this just me or does that only add upto 70%, what about the other 30% ???
Is it that they just don't care :P

I was thinking that. Maybe they got the facts wrong.

Perhaps, but most likely the other 30% have not decided on a console yet. After the latest conference, they should retake the poll to see if the stats have changed at all.

Yeah I was inpressed by the game movies shown for the PS3 at E3, Killzone blew me a way. Of course this was later announced by the developers as been rendered movie footage and not in game like Sony were claiming. It sought of pissed on Sony's bonfire when that info was released
ps3 is going to be behind nintendo it sucks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't like fanboys, but I don't like Sony's Lies, Nintendo's inability to tell us what their doing, and Microsofts ability to buy everything.
Anyway, here is some things..
1-Sony has been posting loses in every category then Games.
2-Sony has wishes that their system will become a standard, and a cheap way to put blue ray in home. With companies like Fox already backing the format for movies.
3-It's been predicted Sony will lose 1-1.4 billion on the PS3, the first year it's for sale. And sence it's rumored that it will have a $400 price tag, that would be 10 million units in the first year (at a $100 lose per unite).
4-Microsoft has a head start and already a large installed base in this generation. It's become the mainstream machine for teenagers and casual gamers.
5-Sony still has a large percent of the market share in Japan, and the USA, but the high price points will scare people off.
Sony PS3- $400 to $500 and 50-80 for games
M$ X-360- $300 or $400 and 50-60 for games
Nin REV- $200 to $300 and 40-50 for games
???

Good points G4, especially since Sony has lost so much on the PSP.
It was huge whatever the number was..

i agree with everything that you said, except i firmly believe that the PS2 is mainstream machine for teenagers and casual gamers, in contrast to what you said, and could you please clarify the first point that you made?

Yeah, sorry about that, I worded it wroung.
Sony has been posting loses every quarter in every category, BUT video games.
That good? :top:
Anyway, I agree that the PS2 is a mainstream machine, but that's for this generation. The Xbox gathered 20-30% of gamers, and I think that those 20-30 of gamers have talked 20% more to come towards Xbox 360.
Oh, and I wasn't really trying to make an overall statment, just analize things.

Add this little story to the list:
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=25901
Playstation 3 Blu Ray drive will cost Sony $100+
If you see that the DVD-Rom thats in the Xbox360 is a Toshiba. And a quick lookup on the price shows that a Toshiba DVD-Rom at retail! not the price that MS will buy it costs only 18€'s ( about 25$ ).
And then the costs of the media needs to be added. Sinds i'm betting that those blu ray disk's are going not to be cheap ( unlike standard dvd disk's who are dirt cheap to produce now ). I've only heared of one company that needs more then 1 dvd for its game for the xbox360.

A link? The thing is huge, which is funny. Maybe they made the PS3 so we could lay it on top of the 360 when they are both lying down. Sept 27th M$ and Sony are going to announce it... :D

At the end of the day I don't care what other consoles do.
I have made my choice and I am happy with that.
I don't fear the PS3 or the revolution at all. All I want is the 360 and I don't care what the others do as I will proberbly get the others when cheap enought but my main proparrity is the 360 and the games for now as I am a gamer who plays games for fun no matter the platform.
