Anyone else with the batt packs for the controllers notice the light stays on when you turn the controller or system off. The light stays on all the time only it is dimmed when the controller or system is off. Makes it so im not getting the life out of them that i should be.

Do you mean the controller location led? Nope - goes completely out on mine. So are you telling us if you use the two AA batteries it works fine?

Ya two double AAs and the LED lights on the controller go out when it is off.

But with the rechargable battery packs the LED lights on the controller stay
on but dimmed. Both of my wireless controllers are doing this.

and no my play and charge cable is not plugged in.

I just tried it now - when I shut off my 360, as the controller turns off, the led stays dim for about 2 seconds and then goes completely out. I'm not sure why yours stay lit?!

It happens to me, if the system is on. The ring is on, but very dim. If the system is off, so are all the LEDs on the controller.

I was thinking that if the wireless controller was plugged in to the play and charge kit and the system was turned off it was sending power to the controller to charge the battery but I guess I was wrong since Ogio said his kit wasnt plugged in. If anyone finds anything about it please keep us updated.

Only if it is connected when the system is turned off.

ya the play and charge cable is not plugged in, the only way I can get the lights on the controllers to go tottally out is to remove the battery pack (or use AAs)

Yea this is actually a widespread thing..... numerous ppl have reported that this is occuring to them..... it happens to me too but if I take out the battery and put it back in it goes off..... its not too serious since it only seems to happen with the rechargable pack tho..... you could return the controller and see if it happens to the one you exchange it with.....

I guess I should feel lucky - I have two controllers with rechargeable packs and neither one has the problem.

I have 3 wireless controllers and 2 of them the light stays on but is dim. If I take my rechargable battery packs out, the light goes out, but if I stick them right back in, it lights up again. I really dont think it hurts your battery tho. Ive only had to charge mine maybe 3 times since the console came out.

Hit your Guide Button and it is in the top left corner of the Guide.

If you swap the battery pack from the contoller that doesn't make the guide light stay on with a bettery pack from one that does what happens. Just wondering if its an issue with the controllers or the battery pack itself.

Id try it but i only have two controllers and two battery packs:)

I have the same problem with my battery pack and i put the batter pack in a different controller and it still had the same problem. its definitly the battery, not the controller. I have two other batteries and they don't do that so I think I'm just going to exchange the battery.

Well, it's controller specific. I replaced my controller, and the LED's are brighter now. My friends controller doesnt have it at all. But, it's rechargeable! They can't take much power, they are LED's. We are talking about probably 1 minute every YEAR if that.
