I got my 360 console this morning:smile: and quickly began to set it up and allthough it comes with batterys i thought i would open the play and charge kit.
Got the scissors out and cut where it tells u to.
My question is who on earth thought of this packaging? I took my half an hour to get into the thing.
Has anyone else been having similar problems?
Oh and the console is brilliant!

Yeah - the packaging is tuff, but I'm guessing it's to prevent theft and moisture. Small price to pay to ensure a quality item.

In fact they have them in stock right now http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11273&mid=327025
I would like to tar and feather the guy that decided to package everything in that crap, then toss him in to a giant bucket of the sharp, jagged pieces your left with when you open the stuff.
Drives me nuts, i hate it aaaarrrrggghhhh

The main reason for the packaging is to prevent theft. You would be suprised how easy it is for someone to rip open something like that. No one tries to steal an entire item+package anymore, they just frantically rip open the package and shove it in their jacket or pants, then hide the package. I see it everyday.

I just cut it on the line they say to and very easily cut it down the side, a lot easier to get it out that way.

Took me about five minutes total to open both my Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit around 7:00 AM on Christmas morning.
Difficult, yet doable.

I didn't have any problems, but then, my play and charge kit is still in its package, waiting to be used. My buddy, when he was trying to get open the extra controller, wrestled with it for 5 minutes or so before asking where my scissors were. It was amusing until he gave up.

Well I had a problem with the package on my play and charge kit. It looked like a bomb hit it by the time I got it out of the package. I suppose this is more then partly because I am the impatient type that cant wait to open something I buy. I nearly destroyed it trying to open it on the way home with a key I removed from my key chain (while driving no less). For my extremely impatient reasons I want this packaging banned for all eternity. I am forming a club of folks that want to march in protest of this vile package. Thank You.

My brother managed to open the Xbox 360 Live 12+1 Month Gold Card Kit case today rather easily, without cutting it or anything. I don't know how he did it.
