Quick question, as I am new to the Xbox Live set up. When you play on-line with the microphone/headset, say in a game like COD2 when you play in teams, when you speak does everyone get to hear what you say or does only your team?

The reason I ask is that often I want to tell my other teammates the tactics (i.e you defend and I'll attack) however it seems like everyone gets to hear it.

Is this possible, or does it just get broadcast to all players?

Only people on the same team can hear each other, except in the lobby where everyone can hear each other.

Every game is different though. Halo 2, if you talk without pressing the left bumper button anyone near you can hear what your saying (teammates and enemies). If you press that bumper button, only your teammates can hear you. PDZ, it tells you on your hud what kind of chat it is and who can hear you.

The bumper buttons are the two buttons above the left and right triggers

Thanks guys - thats cleared that one up! I take it in PGR 3 everyone hears you since you dont play in teams?

Oh - and on another point - (not meaning to disrespect anyone!) but has anyone else noticed that on the microphones seem to be lots of 12 year olds with big mouths who like to swear? Whats irritating is that they always seem to also kick my butt, however thats probably 'cause they can sit around playing it all day rather than go out to work!!

I frequently get smoked by "the younger ones", I also attribute it to them sitting at home playing all day.

I have yet to be schooled by a younger kid (that i know of). I usually mock them and call them girls until they just shut up. Then i rate them "avoid" so i dont get put in the same servers as them. They anoy the hell out of me.

good idea... i hate 12 year olds they like to swear and they use the words wrong, i mean it's one thing if you use them right, but the way they use them makes me want to strangle them and tell them to get a dictionary

How do you do that? I take it you make a note of their name then go to their gamer tag and mark them "avoid"?

You dont really have to make NOTE of their name, You have a "Players" tab next to your friends tab that shows the last 50 or so people you played with. Just kind of remember their name, click on them, rate them, avoid :-). :ahhhhh:
