Serious? Well everyone here is probably going to say 360. Good choice, considering they dont even have a working ps3 yet. But your best bet is to go to some websites and make an educated decision yourself. Thats about it. But if you want my opinion. Xbox 360. Get it, know it, love it.

I haven't played the PS3 but I have a 360 and it is sweeeetttt.
I am betting everybody on this site will tell you the same thing. I am not sure if I am going to get a PS3 or not because I have yet to play it so I can not judge it.

i'd get the 360.

the only feasible cons to the 360 are

noisy
separate power supply
HDD is extra if you have to buy a core
you can't be stupid and expect it to survive
some systems have glitches


and do we know that the ps3 wont have those?

Both systems will be great... You really can't make a wrong choice, as both Sony & Microsoft have invested a substantial amount of money in their respective console to win the next generation console war.

The 360 is out now, so if you can get one... GET ONE! ;-)

The PS3 could be out in Spring 06, Fall 06, or even 2007?!? The price is also a mystery at this point. So you may be waiting a while & saving a ton of money. But make no mistake about it... the PS3 will be quite a machine when it does come out.

Anyway, it is a matter of perspective. The 360 is here and it is a fun machine. Xbox Live and the marketplace are very nice reasons to get the 360. The games are... fine, but at the end of February, things are going to get really good with GR3, Gears of War, Oblivion, and a few other titles. Visually, these games are unparalleled at this point.

The PS3 is still a bit of a mystery. I still look at the controller with huge apprehension. Plus, no unified online service makes me question the overall usefulness of online gaming. Pro-Sony advocates say it'll be free. But I have my doubts because if I were a game developer, and I had to supply a dedicated server and updates/patches, I would be making some extra $$ on the side. I guess I am a bit too capitalistic.

In theory, the PS3 is a more formidible gaming machine, but its architecture and chip design will ultimately hinder that raw power from becoming pure performance. The 360 is easier to develop for, and the GPU is better. It may be a while before you see high quality games for the PS3, specifically speaking, when the PS3 does launch (whenever that is), the games on the 360 should be prettier.

We also have no fixed price for the PS3. Some wishful thinkers believe it'll be $399, but this may be fool-hearty faith. All things considered, the Cell, the GPU, the Blue-tooth, the Blu-ray and potential harddrive components will be rather expensive. And with Sony's recent capital losses, I doubt they will be willing to subsidize costs that much. Look for a $499 price point.

There you have a quick synopsis from one point of view. Obviously Bionic Commando or someone else may have alternative viewpoints, but nevertheless, for your information, you now have a better idea to base your opinion.

Awesome post! I mean it. I agree with the $499 price point on the ps3 although it still could come in higher. $599 is not out of the question. Can you imagine?

As for the 360 ps3 debate. I would say this. You can right now (if you can find one) play on a 360. While the games are not the greatest they are certainly fun and will entertain you for hours. THe games coming in the next few months are going to be great. Ghost recon looks to be the best looking game I have ever seen. I would not count on Gears of war coming in March.

The hardware specs are impressive on both fronts and regardless of what people post, flaunting one consoles specs verse another, the reality is most people don't even understand them. Both companies have invested an incredible amount of money into each console architecture - In the end the games and online service is what will make the difference.

As most people have already said if you can get your hands on a 360 get one. Why wait when you can enjoy the games being offered now. When the PS3 is release, if you can afford it, buy it as well. At least that's my plan!

i got need for speed most wanted and pgr 3 and most wanted looks loads better than wot my pc can do (i know my gfx card is getting on) and there is no lag like there is on the pc also there is no worry that the games wont run how i would like it like with my pc also the gfx of the xbox 360 game will get alot better wen developers get to grips with wot the system can do.

£279.99 for 5 years from a console is better than £200 - £300 every year as ati and nvidia compete to be the fastest but the truth is that u all end up with gfx chips that are not as powerful as the ones in the next gen consoles for about 3-4 years anyway

I still haven’t gotten anything yet…but I know I’m getting the 360….one of the biggest reasons is Xbox live and Xbox market place. Honestly in my opinion there is no way Sony can make a online service free that can compete with Xbox live when Sony is having these rumored financial problems …u pay a one time fee of $50 and the whole years is yours…all that money goes to keeping the system running as smooth as they can….sure its not perfect but it’s a whole lot better then the free live service Sony has now.. Sony doesn’t need to work as hard to please there costumers ,do to the fact the customer don’t pay for the extra services, and the fact they Sony doesn’t have dedicated servers live MS has..


It depends on the person….if u want the PS3 cuz the games or 4 any reason…then u should get it…get the console that makes u the happiest. The one the gives u the most pleaser, that’s what I’d do… it all comes down to you its your money not ours and u know your self better they any of us..
