XBOX 360 on a standard TV??

Couldn't find anything in help.

I have just a standard 28" TV and i'm going to pick up an XBOX 360 tomorrow. Is there a great deal difference in the High Definition TV's to a standard, will i notice anything better on the games??

the difference between regular and hd is price. The picture is much better in hd, but if you never have had it, you will not miss it. If you have had it, you will buy beg borrow or steel to get a hd tv

Don't go out and buy a HDTV unless you want a HDTV,the graphics on a standard TV will not look as sharp and crisp as on a HDTV but will look a whole lot better then on the original Xbox and if you want your 360 to look better on a standard TV then try and buy an advance scart lead for your 360.

So generally speaking it's not worth getting a 360 if you have a standard tv as there wont be much noticable difference in quality that the original xbox?

the xbox 360 games look better than original xbox games on a standard TV!! But to be honest they look 10 times better on an HD TV!!!

I bought an HDTV before I got the 360 and I am glad I did. However the graphical difference between xbox and xbox 360 are huge, not to mention the smoother gameplay and quality AI. If you only have a standard TV don't stress it, besides your cable picture will not show as well on an HDTV if you don't have an HD source ex: HD Direct TV or and HD reciever which you would still need and signal source.


Bottom line get the 360 and in the future when everything goes HD and the price drops (if thats the issue) get it then.

Just checked my monitor and it's HD ready so can run it off here, only 19" but will do for the time being till i save for a nice HD ready TV.

Better get to the shops at 9am see if anywhere has them in stock

dont worry. the graphics are really good even on SD. the games on 360 are better too

if you have the money and dont have anything to use it on (car insurance/payments, house payments, bills, x-wife etc.) buy an hdtv but if you dont have the money wait till the price goes down

if you compare the graphics on say halo 2 and then the graphics on PDZ on SD PDZ wins by a long shot.... anyways i dont see what all the fuss is over graphics i mean it's gameplay not graphics

but my 360 wows me on SD TV HD is of course going to be better but dont let your lack of HD keep you from getting it

Well it depends on how you define "graphics", the resolution from the xbox to the 360 is the same or similar so sharpness is only increased due to the anti-aliasing, but if you look at the shear amount of detail going on in the 360 games its astounding. To begin with i was runing my 360 on a SD tv and i was amazed by Call of Duty 2, its definetaly adequete!!!.

I recently purchased a Samsung LCD HDTV because my old CRT was taking up too much room. Now if i look at Call of Duty on my HD i almost hit the floor it is awesome to say the least, the shear crispness of everything is incredible.

So if you define graphice as the resolution and sharpness of everything i would recommend an HD but if you just want to be amazed by the visual awe of the games stick with a SDTV. Hope that has helped

when i got my xbox360 (i was away from home) we stoped at hotel they had well i think it was around 55" yea around there normal tv and well i just cant wait to see how it works i turn it on allready there lol i had few hotel probs... but it ended nicely ok when i saw the graphic i said Holly **** (we was plaiyng kameo) and offcurse finsih some lvls next day when i came home i plug it into my hdtv i said double holly **** ... bout the picture was olny more cleaner and offcurse the res was higher and yea it was allot of diffrence but still normal tv or hdtv IT'S THE SAME THING nothing changes the sweet gameplay (am not into graphic soo much) you know even if you dont own a hdtv you should buy xbox360 it's worth it really my friend playing on mini-tv and he is very happy well anyway in few months lcd/hd tv's will go cheaper so everyone could afford it ( i didnt buy myslef a hdtv i get it as present for birthday) if i didnt get it for birthday present i would't care just what i was worry about is to get an xbox360 console :)

I agree. I've got a 32" sd tv and 360 games look way better than games on original xbox.
