Is anyone having a problem w/ scratched disks??

I got my XboX 360 a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love it but my game keeps getting scratched. I only have 2 games right now (Madden / NBA2k6). NBA freezes sometimes and when I check the disk it's all scratched. I've never had any problems with Madden. I've exchanged the game twice from best buy and I'm scared to play it. I want to join gamefly but I don't want to be responsible for scratched disks. I called MS customer service and my return box is on the way. I'd rather not lose my Xbox for 1 / 2 weeks but I have no choice. Is anyone having the same problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

My only advice is send your 360 back,I know it's a bit of a downer to be without your console,but hey wouldn't you rather have a console that works?

I agree with Gee here, plus isn't that I known problem with some of the systems? It could be a lot worse, like the system's HDD case melting and then being stuck on the top and then the drive fails!:eek:

How is your box sitting? If its horizontal, try sitting it vertical and see if its still giving the same problem. But ya I agree with the rest sending it in is probably the best option

As long as you aren't concealing something from us (you like dancing with your xbox under your arm after winning a race on PGR3), it's not your fault and should defiantly get the 360 replaced under warranty.

You are probably vertical so put it horizontal. And for the most part people who are getting scratched disks are putting thier vert xbox next to something that rumbles like a sub wolfer.

Just send it in to get fixed week and a half not bad there are still some people waiting to get a 360 so week and a half without it is no big deal.

mine was broken, and i had to send it in. It was a pain in the a$$, but i had to do it, cuz it was awful frezzing. I couldnt play for 3 mins without it freezing. Mine took a really long time ot come back, but it was around chirstmas, so u never know. Good Luck, and send it in.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm new to the XBOX nation and don't want this to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I just wanted to make sure this was a fixable problem. Never been on XBL. Can't wait to pop my cherry.

I have One scratched disk on COD2 and it sucks because there are two maps that I cannot play on multiplayer. However, it was all my fault because I rotated the X360 to a vertical stance position while the COD2 disk was spinning in the drive. DUH!!!

Damn straight Dragonuk! I usually don't repeatedly touch hot surfaces after getting burned the first time. LOL I did it because I had some friends over and I was showing off the 360. Not thinking, I wanted to show them how it looks in a verticle position. *ZZZZZ* "OOOPS"
