Shortages an evil ploy by Microsoft?

I think that Microsoft are leaving such shortages of the Premium Pack so that gamers are forced to purchase the Core Pack and lots more accesories therefore making them spend far more money.

Yeah and if you want to play the xbox games, save demos, music and such you will have to buy a HDD.

Yeah, the plan was to not make enough xboxes so that there would be a big shortage. That way not many people will have 360s when the PS3 comes out ... which is obviously a big advantage to Microsft!

also this hole shortage thing and making users buy more isnt new. EA is doing it with Battlefield 2 for PC they just released an expansion pack which has weapon unlocks in it. if you dont get the expansion pack you dont get the unlocks. and without the unlocks you suck online so they are pretty much forcing you to puy the expansion pack if you want to stay alive in online gameplay and also many servers are running the special forces maps so if you dont buy the pack you cant play on the server.

I see where you are all coming from with the core ploy but I would think MS would want to move as many 360's into peoples living rooms as possible before PS3 launch. i do agree the core system is biggest bunch of BS I have ever seen but I can really see the advantage in couple years when the core drop to $200 and less for the casual/newcomer gamer which will in-turn more sells for the console and build up a larger Xbox fan base for future generations of Xbox's. I believe MS is setting themselves up for victory to take the largest piece of pie out of the gaming market in the long run.
