I thought I read somewhere that when you plug int the charger (USB) for the controller, it's supposed to display the status of the charge on the dash board somewhere. I looked but can't seem to find anything. Am I missing it? How do you know the controller is fully charged?

You press your xbox button on the controller at anytime to bring up the side tab. At the top left you will have a battery indicator like a cell phone would have, with 3 bars. That will tell you if its full or not.

hahaha Don...

Your welcome everyone else. It also works for just regular batteries telling you how much juice is left.

I dont' think so. I think my controller that has regular batteries last twice as long as my controller with the rechargable battery.

yeah but rechargeable ones save you money in the long run

play and charge batteries are nImH, (did i capatialize that right?) or nickel metal hydrate, and they last exceptionally longer and have much less memory problems then normal rechargeable batteries, such as lithium ion batteries.

no. i just like RC cars and had to get different batteries cuz my charger doesn't do NiMH. plus i took 8th grade science so i know scientific symbols are first letter CAPS second letter lower case

i just kept constantly changing batteries, but since i've got the play and charge kit, i've noticed that the controller now lasts much longer than the batteries did.

you only need 1 play and charge kit. it comes with the charger and its $20. after you buy that if you want more batteries you can buy just the battery for $10. so you dont have 3 or 4 chargers and you only need one and it saves you money to buy just the battery

QuantuM

i was figuring that i would get 2 charge kits and 2 extra batteries for my 4 controllers but your right, i probably only need one charge kit.

BTW I think the readout for charge life left on normal alkaline or even mosst rechargeable batteries will be wrong, because the controller is testing the batterie and comparing it to the different charge stages of their specific play and charge NiMH batterie.

I dont think it is more then 2, i think its like 1.47 or something like that. If it was more then 2 then everything out there would cost double!

yea it's $1.77 so it wouldn't be worth it to save $3

Don't forget about the quick charge unit as well. You can use that whenever (whereas with play-n-charge the 360 has to be turned on to charge the batteries).

Just another option to consider.

batteries last longer(more charges) if you slow charge them(at least the bigger ones do i'm assuming it's the same since it's the same basic concept) but I'll look at gamestop when i go today, and wal mart the if i dont have one by this summer i'll just get the kits

if you are charging your batts with the play and charge kit and your turn of you 360 they will continue to charge. you 360 shuts down everything except for the powwer supply and the cooling fans everything else shuts off
