i had a dsl modem hook to my 360 and seemed to have good luck with it up until yesterday. i switched to a cable modem thinking it would be better. this morning i got on line and just about every time i played everyone ping went to 999 and mine to 0. i though a lower ping was a better connection. i also had to use a router for the mac address. does anyone know if the 360 has a mac address to connect the modem straight to it?

if your ping is 0 that is good. that means your host of the game. which is good unless your connection is crap and if it is then you will lag everyone else

yes the 360 does have a mac address
go to the system blade of your dashboard, then to network settings, then under the advanced tab select the first option ( i forget what it says) and the mac address is listed there :toilet:
