sound on xbox 360?

will the sound be different on the 360 like surround sound even if u don't have surround sound speakers? and if any body knows will the 360 use a higher sound card to sound better?

I know I posted it on your other thread, but this is in case it doesn't get noticed:

I can't comment on the sound card, but I don't think it will sound like surround sound without the speakers. The whole point of surround sound is to use different sound channels on different speakers. A television doesn't have the ammount of speakers needed to create the effect.

The new 360 will support digital audio 5.1 and will sound incredible with the proper equipment. As already stated a normal television will simply play the sound in stero, some televisions have a few surround sound settings that use delay and other affects to produce the illusion of multiple speakers.

I just got 5.1 a couple moths ago. it's only 100 watts, but my room is only like 200 Sq. feet!
