Hi everyone,

Downloaded the outfit demo last night, went to run it and it said that my display mode was set to PAL 50, and I needed to change it to PAL 60.
Problem is, I'm using VGA cables to connect to my TV and as such I can't change the refresh rates (there's no option in the display tab on the dashboard).

Anyone else using VGA cables manage to get it to work or know a way around this?

Cheers.

btw the tv's a sony kv42sx300, pretty sure it supports pal 60 so that shouldn't be an issue.

I know where you've gotta go to change the settings, but since I'm using the VGA cable, there is no pal 60 option. When you go into the display settings, the only video options you have when you're using the vga cables is to change the resolution. Kinda sucks, the only hi def input on my tv is vga (no component) so I can't play it unless I change back to the standard lo def cables.

Just in case anyone else has had a problem with the 50/60hz incompatability using VGA cables, I found an answer on oxm forums:

When you use the VGA lead the output will always be at 60Hz as you can't get any less via VGA. This cannot be changed.

However, there does seem to be an issue with the demo for The Outfit, where people are told it cannot run at 50HZ, even though they are using a VGA or component cable. This is probably a bug in the game which means it is checking the PAL settings for composite and RGB SCART connections when it doesn't need to.

The solution is to connect your console via one of those cables, change the PAL setting to PAL-60, then switch off and plug your VGA cable back in. It should now work fine.

Thanks to Rob289 over there.

Seems the feeding frenzy arcade game also suffers with the same problem.

Hope this helps people with VGA cables out.

1 - Turn off console

2 - There is a switch on the connector of the component cable , switch it to TV

3 - Power on the console and go to System/Display/ PAL Settings, choose PAL 60 and save settings

4 - Power off and flick switch on cable back to HDTV

5 - Power on, you are now displaying in PAL 60 (Providing your TV supports it)

6 - Demo will work now

That process only works when using the component HD cable.
I am also running the VGA cable but have not found this problem.
What resolution are you running your video output at? Differing res' have different refresh rates. I am running 1280x1024 (The highest pixel count) and it works fine with all the 60Hz games. On my TV I have an option to view what is being sent to my tv and for my 360 it says for 1280x1024 "63.9kHz/60 Hz".
I suggest you try this resolution, just to see if the demo loads. What is your tvs native resolution?

Hope that is some help
