i'm so mad...i just got the 360 on sun. and it just broke:banghead: ...i got the screen of death, so i called customer support :call2: and they said they would ship and fix it for free, so thats good...:top:

don't worry gamergurl I had my replaced they said 10 days and I got mine back in like 2-3 days.

same here wingman got mine on 1/24 also from Gamestop and no problem thus far knock on wood. Hope everything works oujt for you gamergurl

If your 360 is a dud you will know within a week. After that rest assure that it is perfectly normal . knock on wood.

Got preimium and it did not come with a remote Manufacture date on my 360 was Dec 17th.

Mine had never crashed, and then i downloaded the update, and it has crashed a couple of times and I got that red ring on the ring of lite which means something bad happend

I hope they fix that update soon

so far mine has only acted up once and it was just a quick lock up, the only time ive had the red lights is when i turn it on if i dont have the a/v cables connected, hopefuly they figure out why this update is casuing some strange things to happen

i had a thought: wat if ms is purposely making a few glitchy xboxes to prove that they can handle problems unlike w/ the original xbox...i doubt that im right though...

i don’t know about that. but if its true im safe then. i got my 360 from Costco and they have free life time warranties for anything in the store besides computers...glad i waiting till they started selling.

man, i'm getting all scared now hearing about these 360 problems. got mine on launch day (had to wait 25 hours in line), but i've not had a single problem yet. i let my friend stand in front of me in line, and he's had some serious issues. and considering that i opted not to get the extended warranty (while he did), i'm really happy to have let him buy his first. it could've been me...

My 360 crashed today, Ive had a few lockups in the past but then today all of a sudden the screen just locks up and it gets all snowy. Ive had it since a few day after launch with basically no problems at all. The past few days it has been locking up more often though and I have to restart it. I tried taking the HDD off and restarting it but it just does the same thing with different games. This sux so bad, I was going out of town on Wednesday and taking my 360, now I have to put that on hold and wait for it to get shipped back to me. MS told me a box will be here tomorrow and it should take 7- 10 days to come back to me.

the xbox 360 comes with 1 year manufacter's warranty so i'm worry free untill November 22 2006

I have one and mine still crashed, I dont think it crashed to an overheating issue. It never got hot so the fanstand does a good job. If you get the fanstand make sure to check the bottom of the 360 every so often, it seems to collect more dust on the bottom.

The fanstand does run off of the usb but it has a built in usb so you can plug your wireless adapter, wired controller etc. into it, great design so it doesnt take up the usb ports.

you really won't need a fanstand unless you want to pull an all-nighter
but I heard that if you have your xbox vertically, it scratches discs anyway so why buy the stand

You can have the system sitting vertically you just cant move it while a disk is running in the tray. I dont see why one would want to move it anyways. I like mine sitting vertically. The fanstand helps keep the operating temp of the 360 lower, which means longer life of the system itself.
