View Full Version : Should 360's have virus protection?
do you think 360's that are live enabled can get virus's maybe you play something that is a virus through windows media connect....i guess you computer should have virus protection but to me it seems like some1 could make a virus that your 360 get...even computers with virus protection can get virus's and most virus protection program wont pick one up to target video game consoles or maybe even spyware or adware get on your 360
and sorry but i have never seen this one before and i want to use it (the elephant that is) :elefant:

The 360 is lock down over live, everything on live is approved by MS so nothing can get through that. And for media connect the only thing media connect can do is stream media it cant actually write anything to the xbox. Besides how the heck is a music or picture file supposed to put a virus on a 360. If this was the case than hackers would have exploited this already and we would have all these hacks for it.

There was a virus going around in 2005 that was somehow in .jpg and .jpeg files...

The 360 is far from hacked all they did was changed the firmware to play back-up disc. I will consider the 360 hacked when hackers manage to install their own programs and take over the whole system kinda what happened to the original xbox. MS is gonna come up with a quick fix for the firmware hack too bad they have to waste time with the BS from hackers when they can spend time on improving the dashboard

No I was just making a joke... :top:
Anything can be hacked given enough dedication & will, but I'm sure that Microsoft will do what they can to make it very difficult on the 360.

I think xbox live is exclusively for xbox live users and xbox owners. someone who is not a member could not just barge in do something foolish inside. not unless he is a registered user.

Not to mention the chipset and cpu have built in anti-virus code that will not allow several common virus techniques to even run.
