Only the Xbox and PS2 version show the gun in first person. Xbox 360 version only has the reticule on screen.

I have no idea but I think ubisoft thought it will be better without. You can see more of the screen this way.

Good question Turkey!! Did you also notice that when you place an explosive on a wall or truck, etc, you don't see your had go up. Just the bomb floating up and being placed. Wierd.

you can switch between first and 3rd person, just that there is no gun model in first person, as ubisoft wanted people to use the 3rd person more in the 360 version (awesome character models / animations/

Thats stupid. 10 points for BF2. (I'm comparing BF2 and Graw. I dont know what to get)

The only reason there's no gun in first person view is because original Ghost Recon for PC had a distinct first view with just a crosshair and no gun. That's the reason, as stupid as it may seem..... I personally think the devs are just trying to push the 3rd person view since it gives you more surrounding awareness.

Yeah I tried to play in first person and it was just weird without seeing a gun so I now play only in third person.

Some losers thought it would be cool to have no gun like in the early Ghost Recon games, for whatever absurd reason that sounded good to them,

I don't see the big deal about not having a gun in the 1st person....
3rd person is much more fun than 1st person anyway

i have to disagree with that. i think first person is a lot funner than 3rd person becuase you feel like your in their shoes but i think it makes a difference not having a gun in 1st

I don't see what the big deal is. The only thing you need in first person view is a reticle, thats it. How on earth does a gun model make the slightest difference? And anyway the "over the shoulder" view is very impressive and in this type of game I feel has the edge over 1st, as toxikneedle said, it gives you much more situational awareness. Isn't this the key to staying alive?
Some people don't realise what it takes to make a game like GRAW. It is a masterpiece and one slight thing that isn't of the norm is not going to change my opinion in the slightest.

also another reason may be that ur playing split screen. in split screen it forces first person.(i like first person alot but it just doesent fit in this game)

they both have benifits...first person its easier to aim but no gun animation and loss of situational awarness...ie not knowing whether your croutched or standing. third person is better for tactics but isn't the easiest to aim especially if your not good at switching the shoulder cam to better position the reticle.

When you actually think about it, when you play split screen, the screen becomes much smaller and you can't see as much as you would when you play single player (obviously). It only makes sense that they took out the gun so a person can see much better and easier.

I don't like third person views at all. I prefer First person with a gun for realism because you don't look over your shoulr in real life, you can't. I prefer FP

Most shooters that a lot of us grew up playing that used first-person had the gun modeling, its just hard to change. Just something we got use to but myself I prefer the third-person view in GRAW. Ive also played a lot of split screen and have got use to no weapon being showed.
Well, in my opinion, GRAW can be a very tactically-based game if you want to survive, while progressing as fast as possible. And in order to be safe, you have to take advantage of the way Ubisoft allows you to peek around corners. Bouncing from cover to cover, looking around corners will keep you alive a lot longer than running and gunning.
I happen to enjoy to 3rd person view, kind of a nice break from your average FPS.
