Hi,

I just picked up the 360 console and Oblivion game today, plugged it all in (analogue TV) and loaded the disc up afetr creating a profile. The intro movie with the King(?) (Patrick Stewart's voice) has some flickering lines while it is playing and the sound cuts out for a second every 5 seconds. I'm really sorry if this question has already been asked, but has anyone else experienced this and can anyone help with my problem? If there is already a thread about this could you please point me in its direction before locking. I did try a search on "sound" in the Elder Scrolls section as suggested but didn't find anything helpful.

Thanks for your time.

p.s. So far the game itself seems to be running fine, its just the Bethseda Screen and movies which the sound cuts out and visual anomalies occur.

I have the same problem but during the game. The sound will just cut off every so often. I don't know a way to fix it though.

I know what's the problem, I had the same.

How to solve: Go to the 360 dashboard. Enter console settings. Go to "Display", then "PAL-format", and change to PAL-60. This will solve the problem, trust me.

I didnt have the problem, mine is a NTSC xbox 360 if that helps. Are you playing on an imported 360 or oblivion copy.

Not imported. Anyways it has nothing to do wuth that. You have to change to PAL-60, otherwise the sound will get cut off. That's the problem, plain and simple.

Thanks, that fixed the problem. If it needed to run at 60 mhz then why didn't ship default!?! Anyway, problem solved. Thanks.
