ok i have to open some pillar thingy with spell, i kinda figuered out the fire and ice bit and the pillar opens half way (i think) but when i try either fortify or absorb majica from the stupid thing it closes....what am i doing wrong??....... Thanks in advance... (loving this forum by the way most of the posts have been very helpful in my first attempt at playing a RPG)

ok... u got the right spells...but u have to do the 4 speels in order... forgot which order...

1.fire 2.ice 3.damage 4.fortify
(i suggest you save after ice, before you cast the spells though, cant remember if 3 and 4 are in the right order) Make sure you use "target" spells or scrolls.

where can i find a damage magica spell?

ok... when u go talk to the guy thats standing down by the pillar... theres a chest near the wall and desk... open it and u'll find some scrolls, in there there are a whole bunch of scrolls and the damage magika one...

I have a problem also.. I have done all that.. in order.. and i get to the last one, the pillar opens all the way to reveal the staircase then before i can get there it closes.... or sometimes doesnt even open all the way... crazy!!

hmm...if it opens all the way then closes, that means u didnt do it right.. (i wouldnt recommend using good spells... the ones i used were...[not in the right order] - fire damage of 6 on target, frost touch of 15, and then the 2 scrolls i found in the chest...)

I am also stuck on this. Problem is that I got to this point, grabbed the scrolls with the intention of one day returning. Looks like I used my Ice scroll. Have since made lots of progress (60hours into the game).

Is it possible to find another Ice Scroll or use a spell? If so, where can I purchase or find one? -- I see a lot of fire spells out there.

try the mages guilds in the towns... also some chapel people sell spells, too.

also - if u happen to w8 around in a mages guild some people will walk in and have good spells on 'em too.

or u can just go into the arcane university and make a small spell of each type... im not sure if some1 could if they arent in the mages guild :\

Figured it out... apparently if you wait long enough, new scrolls show up in the chest. =)
