Yup, that is what I have been doing since launch.

You can... You could also plug in a USB HDD. The 360 sees them all as mass storage devices.

i have been able to play music but not videos
has anybody actually been able to store videos on their 360 harddrive, cause I cant get the 360 to recognize, videos on either my thumb drive, or on a portable harddrive

The xbox 360 only has 2 ways to play videos...
1. If you have Windows Media Center 2005 then you can stream videos to the 360 with the Windows Media Extender.
2. If you download videos off the marketplace.
Those are the ONLY 2 ways of getting this done (right now). You cant rip videos to your hard drive or stream them from any other media (thumb drive, USB HDD). I know, its a bummer, especailly for people like me who have Media Center 2004 and it doesnt work :(. :banghead:

ok well i havent been able to stream videos from my thumb drive, or from a USB HDD, becuase when i go to the videos tab, nothing is recognized except for the 360 HDD :egg:

there must be something wrong with the thumb drive or the 360 doesent recognize that model. mine works all the time. wen u go to lisin to music there will be three devices.1.computer 2.HDD 3.thumb drive
