Heh, good luck with that. They didn't learn with Tupac, Biggy nor any others, so I doubt a relatively unknown rapper named Proof will change anything either.

Those who live by the sword, die by the sword. And from the looks of things, the only change I see, is for the negative.

The sad thing about it is that the little kids look at it and think that it's the cool thing to do. It's a very sad situation.

Dude dont think all Americans go out and shoot each other just because we feel like it. No one knows what this guy was into, he couldve been trafficking drugs, messed with someone he shouldnt have, owed someone a lot of money, who knows. Never heard of the guy but it sux he got shot.

Yea its kinda sad that the black community cant come together like they did back when MLK was around. i for one am an african american from the ghetto and its really sad when everyone around you seems to think the only way out of the ghetto is B-ball or Rapping. i dont do niether but im on my way up and out doing something you probably wouldnt think someone like me would be doing (something that pays alot in corporate america) and i still rock my baggy jeans and fitted caps and Jordans when im off but at work i dress respectful and professional. i respect myself and the people around me and count on me to put food on the table to sometimes "Sell out" to get where i got to go in life and my career. alot of people from my background wont do that because they think it makes them look like a punk or something and its sad. with that being said im far from a 8itch either, i hold my own i just pick my battles wisely now that i got a little one.

It's not just negros, it's minorities in general. if they can't play sports, rap or hustle, they think they are trapped. I remember in a Charles Barkley interview, he said that he went to a classroom and asked the kids who want to be a basketball player? just about everyone raised thier hand. He then asked who want's to be a doctor, cop, fireman, etc? barely anyone raised thier hand. Enough said. I'm very concerned for this country's future if there is even one.

Man, thank you Shotty for finally saying it. I was reading through these replys, woundering when someone would say it. I just haven't been able to make it to the forums in a few days. I wanted to start a "RIP thread" for him.

RIP Deshaun Holton, AKA Proof. My prayers and best wishes go out to his family (Kids and wife left behind), the D12 Community and also Mr. Bender's friends and family, since he also was pronounced dead, this morning, from gunshot wounds suffered in the brawl, after 7 days in the hospital. Neither men deserved what they got, and i don't agree with either of their actions, especially "Proof's", but everyone makes mistakes. And before everyone here gets all judgemental on how much of a steryotypical "Gangster", Deshaun was, they need to actually read up on the reports. Proof was a kind, humble man, that always put others before himself. Thats why Eminem came to be so big, and D12. He was the reason they exist together today. You hear those two names before you hear Big P's name. Eminem has what 5-6 Cds? D-12 (which by the way, stands for "The Dirty Dozen, even though there are only 6 members...Each member has an alter ego...Eminem-Slim Shady, Deshaun-Proof, etc...therefore making up 12 members) has 2 and one just about under production. Proof has only ONE mainstream CD out, "Searching For Jerry Garcia", and it is has been one of my favorite cds ever since its release (Actually 3 out if you count "Hand 2 Hand", that him and Iron Fist produced, with a bunch of breakout artists, and Derty Harry. They have some pretty good tracks). He was always placing others before himself.

Anyway, the point is that he was a much better man and friend to those who knew him, than what many of you might call a "gangster".
Eminem said it best when he said, "lets not remember the way he died, rather, the way he lived." I could not agree more. The Detroit Hip Hop community will not be the same without him.

If anyone is interested in the actual story of what happend hear is the link, i have been following it pretty closely.
