shortcuts in gates of oblivion

i hate the oblivion missions that require you to go into a tower to extend the bridge that takes you to another tower to flip a swith to extend a bridge to the main tower. i just got to another gate like that so i did some investigating. the level starts out, you got 3 towers. the main is in front and there's 1 on your left and right and there's a ground bridge just in front of you. here's how i was able to get to the main tower without the hassle of going through the other 2 towers. i got a ring that gives you 15% protection from fire. i went under the bridge to the other side and staying close to the wall i was able to get past some rocks and closer to the main tower. now before i hopped across the lava, i saved. then i went for it and i was able to get on the little island with the main tower giving me about 25% health in a matter of seconds and of course i used a few weak healing potions and filled the rest of my health with magic. give it a try if you want to end the oblivion mission asap.

Switches? Extending Bridges? I never did any of that, I always put my necklase of water walking and my 50% or my 100% fire resist ring (I got rid of the 50% when I got the 100%) and just ran across the lava and took minimal amount of damage. Runnign across Lava does not hurt nearly as bad as swimming in it.

Good post though, I am sure alot of people didnt know you could just skip across the lava.

did you find those 50% and 100% fire rings or were they given to you?

I found them on enemies I killed. I also found a 100% shock resist ring.
