Some people have bagged both the design and name of the Xbox360

1. I think the design is great - especially that they got away from the black colour, but retained the green elements. White is much better looking.

2. Xbox360 is much better than Xbox2 or XboxNext etc. All it took was time for people to get used to the names, and no one remembers the old name anymore. Plus they are now on a level playing field with Sony, ie PS3 vs Xbox360 ;)

1. i love the new design; the concave sides really give it dimension and sleekness, plus i love the new "chill" color. not quite white, not really anything, just chill....

2. xbox360 as a name also is a symbol. the 360 is going to have a simultaneous release 360 degrees around the globe.

you'll be able to chat with people 360 degrees around the globe!

the 360 isn't just a name, it's the plan of attack! ps3 is just a generic name, but xbox360 has meaning!

THe Xbox 360 WILL be better. Just wait until it comes out it will be an amazing system.

actually have you all seen teh mockup of a black xbox360 THE DAMN THING IS SEXY AS HELL. i would rather have MS let you choose between black and that off-white. and second the name its coo kinda generic when you actually know wat it represents. being able to acess media all around your entertainment center and your pc.

I seen that also - the option to choose between the off-white and black would be good, maybe even a brushed-aluminium (like DVD players etc have) would also be good!

The name is nice, its not just another generic name. As far as black or white, I would defenitely get a white one, I think it already looks great. And I think you are going to be able to change the front faceplate, which is nce.

Yeah they made a nice choice of names. Sony usually names all of their gaming crap in a generic name.

it's not just all around your entertainment center and pc...it's accessing the world.

you can trade with people in india for ****'s sake. talk it up with some guy in new zealand, or what ever you want to do!

I wanted the name Nexbox... maybe not. I would prefer a brushed aluminum look rather than off-white, but spray paint doesn't cost too much so I'll get my wish. I have no problem with the default black color, I kinda wish it was an option though.

Design, hmm. Seriously, the prototype for Nintendo was the best out of the three presented, and PS3 was definitely in LAST place for design concept, on so many levels [looks, size, font, that thing they call a controller which vibrates and is turning heads in the "adult" industry]. Xbox 360 is nice, but not as sleek as Nintendo. If it were possible, and my opinion were king, we'd get the xbox 360 controller with a fused Revolution + Xbox 360 look, with 3 standard colors (off-white, brushed aluminum, and jet black) and interchangable face plates. By fused design, I mean less conclaved, but same relative size.

I like the design just not the front its to... 90's but every were else looks good. When I first heard the name Xbox 360 I thought it might be round or something I just hated the name and almost joined the PS3 ban wagon but I eventually grew into the name and don't mind it. Though I'd still prefer Xenon or Xbox Evolution :biggrin:

I don't remember who said it, but someone said it is because it is launching at the same time "360 degrees" around the world since it is launching everywhere at the same time.

Good design, looks very sleek and stylish, much needed after the Xbox's fugly appearance (also helps break the Japanese market).
The name i'm not so bothered about, I think Xenon was nice, but Xbox 360 has grew on me I suppose.

Just so you know the REAL REASON why its called Xbox 360 is because it covers all the degrees of entertainmant i.e. Music, Games, Movies, Online, Chat etc etc.

yo tha xbox 360 iz definately gonna be beta than ps3....... PS3 iz gonna have 25gbs I thought dat waz crazy................. but xbox dropped iz 278gbs who the hell is gonna use up 278gbs.................I didn't even use up all the blocks on the regular xbox

Ime happy with both the name and design. The name is unique and i think in the end we will be calling it the 360 rather than the xbox. The design is alot better than i thought it would be and looks 100 times better than the original xbox. No doubt we will see different limited edition colours over the coming years just like with the original xbox. So u never no black maybe on the way, or will they just stick with the faceplates?

sleek and kool design and same with the name

about the face plates it you want black with the original one spray it black easy..

also i love all the different designs on the face plates and ill definatly gettin a couple i like so far.

Well the design could be better imo, it's the best atm but they could have put a little bit more thought into it, also the name x-box 360 doesn't have that WHAM!! in your face kinda feel to it.

I'm sure that this is only me who thinks this but who really care's im not buying it for the name or look's.

I think the design is awesome but the faceplates are sort of dumb because they only cover the front of the console, not the whole thing.

The name is a little strange, and I find it a little insulting that MS thinks that us consumers are so stupid that we would think that PS3 is better than Xbox 2 just because it's number is higher. But I don't care, it's an OK name.

I really do like white more then black or aluminum, it stands out in a conservative way then black and doesnt show scratches like aluminum. I do like the concave design. However, the name is a complete marketing scam to put it on par withps3 so dumb**** muthers will buy the higher number system 4 their 5-year-old cuz they dont no wak ****. Anywho, Xenon sounded better and didnt carry any next-gen symbolism.

The x360 is the first console ever that doesn't need to be hidden in your bedroom or the living room, it's stylish and sexy, the concave clean design lets you put it on top of anything and perfectly combines with almost every modern house without screaming "Hey I'm a gamming machine!!" (Because it's more than that) In my opinion, is some of the aspects of the console that admits the less critics because never before a gamming machine looked so good, never.

As for the name, well, it's not difficult to figure out that the name came from a marketing idea. THey don't wanted to sound inferior by labeling the console "Xbox 2" while their biggest competitor would be Playstation 3. So they named it Xbox 360, that's about it. Wise decision if you ask me.
