Prey, a breathtaking first person shooter that has had the attention and a loyal following for a while now is set to be released on May 29, 2006 for PC and Xbox 360 systems. This was not always so. Many gamers might find it hard to believe that this game has had a long history.
Originally Prey was being designed by Apogee Games to crash the market of the original successful game Quake, a revolutionary first person shooter designed by ID Software in 1995. Now after so many years of team changes, engine changes, and logo changes as you will see when you visit the link below, it has been perfected.
Pre-History:
The year was 1995, the place was Apogee / 3D Realms headquarters in Garland, TX. The Developers of Incredible Power (DIP) just completed their first major game, Rise of the Triad, but that's another story. With id Software's Quake just around the corner, 3D Realms needed a next generation 3D game to compete. With the other team in the company working on Duke Nukem 3D, it was the DIP's turn to start on a new project, led by Tom Hall.
