XBOX 360 bought from ebay.Comes from Japan!! Region code help etc

I just bought a Xbox 360 from ebay withut realising it comes from Japan originally, this annoyed me no end when I found out, but I was told that I could play the same games from the UK & they would work on this console. Is this correct?

I bought Top Spin 2 & Call of Duty 2, COD2 works but TS2 does not, is there a way to get it to work or am royally f***ed?

damn you got ****ed. you wont be able to play topspin because until a modchip comes out you are stuck with the region code.

Even if you got an NTSC xbox 360 it still won't be pal. IF you have a NTSC tv then you should sell the pal x360 and ebay a NTSC one. Why don't you ebay one from Europe since they get some exclusives there.

So let me get this straight, my Xbox 360 is NTSC? correct or not? and as such will never be able to play any uk games (not sure if i mentioned that I'm based in the UK or not) only region free games?

You just need to go ahead and resale the 360 on eBay. Some games you can buy are not region locked so they are playable on the Japanese version you have now. Others, like youve found out, will not play on your 360. If you want games to be playable on your 360 you would have to order most games from japan. Sorry man.

Damn that sux for you dude! Yeah i got mine from an AMERICAN wal-mart. I would never get a 360 off of Ebay, for one reason such as yours, and another, because the ones on Ebay are pretty expensive, and alot of people on Ebay just screw you when you pay them and they dont send you the stuff!

first off what does your console say when you put top spin 2 in? if it says it needs to be 60hz, to into the system settings, video options and select 60hz. you can't change to 60hz with the vga cable, the option isnt there, so you have to change it with teh standard cable... that is if that is your problem

I dont get why u guys think this is soo bad, i have a japanese xbox as well and i think it is better then getting an american xbox the only reason is, their are games that we get sooner then you guys. For example the game Ninety Nine Nights came out in March (jap version) and May (asian version) {difference is jap only has jap lanugage and asian has english language} and we get to play these games sooner then you guys. As for TopSpin 2 you will need to pick up the asian version of the game in order to play it.

I have used play asia on numerous occasions. They are great. It will solve your problems purchasing your games from them. However, the games will also be in japanese.
