Any way to avoid the mage guild glitch, RE:ring quest

I am on the mage reccomendation quest in cheydinhal. I have entered the well but there is not body floating as I have seemed described in a Oblivion game guide. How can we Xbox folks still finish this task?

I didnt have this problem but have you tried reverting to a previous save?

yeah using the second most recent save didn't work, The one before that was right before closing an oblivian gate so I'm trying not to use that. The first time I got into the well I wasn't skilled enough to use the bouyancey spell so I left moments after entering. Perhaps thats what started the bug.

are youchecking if he's floating? and it isnt because of the buoyancy thing, i had the same thing on my fighter guy that wanted to enchant stuff.

i finished that quest without having any problems he was right there. i just used a bunch of alteration magic to get my level up and went right in an got the ring and got right back out mayeb you should just try talking to more people in the mages guild and wait maybe a day or so and then try going back to the well.

Try going to some magic shops and buying feather and water breathing spells. If you have no ethics like me you can then use The duplicate Item Glitch Just in case you get it wrong the first time. And do what Covenantkiller said and wait around a bit. I cant think of anything else other than Trying an even earlier save.

The body naturally disapears after 3 days sux i know, i still cant finish the recommendation, The update on xbox live was suppose to fix problem so i did the update, still no body tho...
