I played the old Elder Scrolls on Xbox and I didnt like it, the fighting wasnt that good in my opinion, and just didnt seem that great.
I was wondering from the people that have played that one and this one, how much better is this one? A lot of people are saying this game is 10x better than that. I was just wondering since I was thinking of buying it soon.
Thanks
I had the same complaint about Morrowind. And I still have the same complaint about Oblivion, which is why I sold it off for $45. No reason to keep it when I didnt like it. The story was decent, the cities were amazing - but the combat was lame.
I know others will say different, but this is just me.

Yea Morrowind, I thought the fighting was horrible. The game just seemed like there was WAY to much to learn, it would take weeks to figure out the game. Im not a newbie to learn games either, but Morrowind was just way to much. It was insane.
But I was just wondering if the Oblivion was any different.

I like the combat. Granted it isnt revolutionary but its solid and definitely better than Morrowind's. Oblivion is an amazing game, you wont be dissapointed Rebel_INS

I couldnt get into morrowind at all. I found the combat lame just like you. Oblivion however I just loved. It was the first Elder scrolls game I enjoyed and my expectations were low. At first I had a little trouble and wasnt sure what to think. After learning the game a bit, I created a character that I thought I would love to play, and that I did.
The biggest thing is finding a character you can enjoy. I found the combat slightly different depending on your specialty. Basic but still enjoyable none the less.

I've never played a game like oblivion before. Ive always been an fps and driving gamer but oblivion changed all that. over 200 hours since i first put the disc in and I'm still hooked. Theres just so much to do and none of it is tedious. The only thing that has let the experience down for me is the glitchy gameplay. But not everyone has those problems. If it wasnt for some annoying loading times and the odd game freeze It would be A 10/10 for me.
You must buy this game.

incredible game couldnt really ask for more in it other then like someone else said there aer some loading times there but not many (for me anyway) and i havent had any glitchy gameplay at all. i am 50 hours into the game and enver want to put the controller down. theres always something new and depending on how you act out the game a lot of things change so its different for everyone. the character customization is incredible as well you can make your character look however you want. lots of different armours and weapons, spells, items, side quests. i havent even started the main quest yet, just gained access to the mages college, finished the arena quest, started the dark brotherhood quest havent started the thieves guild, i am a knight of the white errant and im also the honorary member of the order of the virtuous blood. theres so much you can do theres no way you can get bored and the fighting really isnt that bad you get used to it. and it gets better the further into the game you get.
