Help quick! Can't connect...

I have a 10.00 Mbps connection, right. It works on and off and its seriously pissing me off! I tried to get on and it won't connect so I test and it failed (MTS). I do it again, fail, same thing. Do it again, works. Connects, asks to update, try to update...fails! WTF! What could cause that. Everything is hooked in fine. I had this problem before, it'll work and then some days it just won't connect and its the MTS connection (or MTU, I don't remember MTsomething lol) I've tried updating like 10-12 times and it keeps failing. Please, someone help if you have any idea what would do that.

Damn, pain in the ass just to play some Madden. I live at a studen living apartment complex so like the entire complex is run off there network. Its fast, its usually reliable, but obviously somethings going down right now with my internet or something. Plugged into the computer, alls well, plugged into the X-Box I can't stay connected.
