Downloading of songs from an external storage device (mp3 player) is not permitted on the 360. So, you can either keep the iPod plugged in and use it for music during games or rip CD's to the harddrive.

I'm not sure how to with an IPOD. But you can copy some MP3's onto a CD-R and then rip those songs onto your 360 from it. When you put your cd into the drive, go to the 'Music' tab, select 'Audio CD' and then 'Rip'. You should be able to select the songs you want and edit their info as well.

Hey if I download songs into it can I play the songs while I play a game? Or can I only play them if thats all Im doing? It would be perfect if the menu music was songs that I downloaded but that might be asking too much.

you can play games while listening to your own music.....your music selection will automatically override the game's own music.....you just have to push the guide button whilst in the game and select your music from the hard drive....simple as that....best of all you can do this on every xb360 game ...those that are out and to be released
