Hi,

Has anyone out there had any problems with their XBox 360 dvd (hitachi version) tray sticking open?

The tray on my xbox gets stuck in the open position sometimes, when it tries to shut there is also a click noise. I am wondering if the tray has got slightly warped as i can very carefully tap the underside of the tray and it seems to straighten it self out - its almost like its buckled. Once i have done this it will close ok again.

Everything else on the box works fine, but i am starting to get a little worried as this problem is becoming very frequent for me. I am a bit reluctant to send my xbox 360 off for repair as i had to do this with a faulty PS2 and it was a right pain in the @rse.

Any suggestions on how to stop this - can the drive be removed / replaced etc?

cheers,

Balchers

Mine works fine, no problems. Are one of the gears that opens the drive loose or broken? I wouldnt want to crack open the case to find out. I would just send it back to MS if its still under warranty. Its not as bad as it might seem, they are pretty fast at getting the console back to you.

That also crossed my mind about the gears - i will check after work tonight. This has only started happening in the last month as it has been fine up until now!

I know that there has been a lot of posts about sending back xbox's, but if i send mine back do you think i will get a new or refurbished one? Maybe i could try and take it back to the shop, HMV are usually pretty good.
