I just went out today and baught all the sh*t to put together a computer. Me and my friend spent 4 hours, cause it was a difficult chassis, putting it together. After a few failed attempts due to my ignorance and misplacing of the wires on the pin board, we got it to work. Woooo! I spent about $910 but I got:
15" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Keyboard/Optical Mouse
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ 2.21GHz
1.2GB RAM
ATi Radeaon X1600 Pro Video Card
K8N Neo4-F MSI Motherboard
Dual Layer DVD-RW Drive
and a badass chassis. I'm so happy.
Sound like a good system?

How can Dell suck? My cousin has a LG Computer and its tight. Its really skinny about 5 inches and its a 19", you should try to get that but he's in Canada.

I second that... Dells do not suck. I have an Inspiron 6000 laptop and I've never had one damn problem with it. When I switch over to Vista and DX10, I'll be going back to Dell... Plus since they bought Alienware they have become much more gamer savey and their computers performance have increased quite well...

Are you serious? Dell's are good? Dude, they suck. If it goes out its out. You have any idea how much they charge you to fix it? My friend builds custom computers and sells them, Dell will overcharge you about $200-$400. You can put the SAME exact parts in a computer he builds and the same parts into a Dell system on their site and it'll cost that much less with him...seriously.

You people don't know what they are talking about. Dell uses quality parts and thier casing is good. I own a Dell Dimension 8200 (purchased it in Oct 02) with a 4yr warranty and I only had one major problem with it (the video card died on me and they send me a replacement video card asap). They are one of the best PC makers out there (this comes from someone who works for Sony).

Well, I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and there's no prob with it. My dad and I just putting alot of memory on it. There's no problem with Dell or Compaq. Compaq was the best computer-making company in the early days. I still have one too.

Check it out yourself...go to Find a Notebook, Desktop, Server, Printer, Software, Service, Monitor or TV at Dell. (http://www.dell.com) right. Click all the parts, like 2.2GHz processor and 1GB RAM, 256MB Graphic card...then go to Cheap Guys Computers (http://www.cheapguys.com) ok. Look at exactly the same sh*t you want and look at the price diffrence. You'll be amazed...Dell and Compaq give packages for that reason. They want you to get more sh*t to try and compensate for the computer. Btw, get it fixed...they never give you the exact part, they always give you a referbished one or something similiar but odds are not as good.
